ANOTHER BRIEF QUESTION. Ylowe it is true that he was convicted of mail fraud, released and subsequently deported back to Jamaica. However there is more to the story than meets the eye for Marcus Garvey was up against the powers of white supermacy and was a threat to it. So they used the simple strategy of divide and rule which seems to work so easily amongst African people to destroy the movement through infiltrating the Universal Negro Improvement Association.

Yesterday afternoon I was listening to BURNING SPEAR’s special 1975 release
“Marcus Garvey/ Marcus Garvey’s Ghost” to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Marcus Garvey’s birth.
The children of Israel were slaves in Egypt and it is said that we should not go that way again……..by which I understand that we should not spend too much unnecessary ( morbid) time deliberating on those times or ever surrender to that vicious culture.... look at Haiti still being punished …….

So after listening to the whole CD through, I livelyed up myself with I ROY’s “ Every Mouth must be fed” ( from his “ Straight to the Heart” )
Yes, I have relatives I from and in Westmoreland , in Jamaica…………and in Martinique, but it’s Antigua that is most like Freetown and the Western Area of Sierra Leone.
And by the way , I’m sure you’ve listened to brutha Demba Conta’s “ United States of Africa” which he recorded with some of the Wailers, ( Sly& Robbie) in Jamaica.
