WHAT DID JOSEF GOEBBELS (HITLER'S PROPAGANDA SECRETARY) AND FORMER AMERICAN PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN HAVE IN COMMON THAT THEY BOTH USE EFFECTIVELY TO THEIR POLITICAL ADVANTAGE?

THE ANSWER IS NOT WHAT MANY EXPECT. both josef goebbels and ronald reagan have immense love for hoolyhood movies.they do all political strategies like a movey script.reagan is believe to have spent more time at the movies during his presidency than any thing else.
for goebbels he use the power of the t.v to brain wash the german's to the nazy philosophy.even hitler use to rehease infront of a mirror before any speech.image is very vital in modern politics.
as the american's say .the movey .

Santanfara,

Lets not mention Star Wars Ronald Reagan and that SOB in the same breath - both changed the course of human history in such differing ways. For the sake of peace aND HARMONY AMONG US IN THIS bANTABA LETS NOT RAKE UP THIS nAZI BIZNESS. WE KNOW THAT FOOTBALL IS A GAME and if more than just a game it's also a part of human relations.

I was not happy with Reagan bombing Libya or what is reported as his orders to exterminate the Black Panthers whilst he was governor of California.
If you look deeper into this link , you might begin to see beyond the movies, my friend:

Reagn was also reasonable for the Nicarguan War and invading Grenada. He helped to distablise the Caribbean.

Sister Omega,

Getting to know you?

What a surprise! I didn’t know that you had that in you. As soulman poet Bob Dylan’d say,
There’s much that had better be left unsaid: from his epoch breaking album: INFIDELS

“ Democracy don't rule the world,
You'd better get that in your head.
This world is ruled by violence
but I guess that's better left unsaid.”

http://www.bobdylan.com/albums/infidels.html

And it would be a failure on our part, to not remind you about a part of our history.

The Black Panthers

You know that in this country where we all live, I have to answer almost everyday (have answered maybe twenty thousand times the question “Where do you come from?” You’d think that I looked like I was from another planet. As from today my answer will be “BROMMA!” and when I have purified my pen with authu bilahi mina shaitan ni rajim they’ll be hearing from me most very seriously like they’ve never heard from a ****** before, about the question of integration – you can’t talk about it without seriously addressing the issue of racism. I also have some good and worthwhile ideas from one of my daughters about what is called “Diversity management.” She is such a manager.

I saw Olof Palme live, twice in my life. Once, nose to nose in the Jazz section of Akademi bookshop at Odenplan, two months before he was shot dead – and that was the last time. You mentioned Nicaragua. The first time he was when security in Stockholm had never been heavier since Chairman Arafat’s visit and he was in a car with heavy security in front and behind with this man in the back seat with him:

sister Omerga you are right. infact the United States (member of Security Council) is the only country legally convicted of promoting TERRORISM in Nicaragua which is against the UN Charter. in fact i will paste one of the judgements of the Internation Court of Justice here. if you read through they were found guilty on all counts from financing terrorist to training them.

''as to the claim that the United states activities in relation to the contras constitutes a breach of customary international law principle of non-use of force, the Court finds that....... the United States has committed a prima facie violation of that principle by its assistance to the contras in Nicaragua by ''organising or encouraging the organisation of irregular forces or armed bands for incursion into the the territory of another state and participating in acts of civil strife''.....''

http://www.icj-cij.org/icjwww/idecisions.htm

the actual article is on

http://www.icj-cij.org/icjwww/icases/inus/inus_ijudgment/inus_ijudgment_19860627.pdf (from page 105)

note that no one called the Contras a terrorist group even those the PLO or ANC who were actually liberating their people were called terrorist. i will not even touch on the number of innocent people killed by the Contras

this is why Bush/Blair look like fools and have no credibility accusing Iran or Syria of anything. no one will listen to them, because people are actually aware of their underground activities.

what goes around comes around they say

Cornelius Thanks for this informative thread. You would be surprised what I've got in me. Put it this way UNIA and Black Panther Party are a part of my family's legacy and it was good to read the Black Panther party's website nearly 40 years on to view the world in which I was born into. As a child I benefited from some of those programmes which were aimed at enpowering the African Diaspora in Britain and attended the first Black supplementary which my father and friends set up in Handsworth. Influenced by Marcus Garvey a friend of my great grandmother and grandfather. During that time my maternal grandmother had opened up the first West Indian Takeway in Handsworth where Black Panther Party members used to meet. The self defence, legal advice and education programmes were and still are very important within the African Diaspora community. But during that period in England African Diaspora communities had to stick together, to get access to housing, jobs weren't so much a problem but balatant and institutional racism was, and still is but in a more subtle forms.

I was unaware of Olof Palm contribution in fighting against racism being one of the few European countries to speak out against racism in America and to apply economic sanctions on South Africa. More should be taught about Sweden's rule in the anti-racism struggle. I wasn't aware that Daniel Ortega had just won the Nicguarian elections. Let's hope the US this time around respect the right to Self detemination its neighbour as an independent Souverign nation.

I read Dylans song reflect civil rights era and vietnam you just need a touch of Marvin Gaye What's Going On etc.http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/artist/card/0,,434748,00.html?aff=lyricscafe.com
Sam's Cooke Change gonna comehttp://www.artistdirect.com/nad/music/artist/songs/0,,417171-4,00.html
The verse about democarcy which you quoted from Dylan is just timeless mix it with some Bob Marley War taken from Haile Selassie speeach help's to recreates revolutionary changes of later part of 20th Century.http://www.bobmarley.com/songs/songs.cgi?war

Njucks the question is the US was found guilty but what was its punishment? Does anyone know? Being found guilty without being punished is a mockery of justice or am I missing something here?

my apologies, i thought you were unaware that the United states is not a party to the International Court of Justice and hence doesnt abide by its rulings.the US believes that an American cannot be subjected to Law outside the US constitution.

because the Court is part of the UN, sanctions can be imposed to enforce its rulings but whenever these are tabled on the Security Council the US simply vetos them. this was the case in this case, nothing happened.

this issue surfaced again when US soldiers were absuing prisoners in the prisons in Iraq and raping Iraqi women. which is/are an international crimes.

the whole UN setup is simply a joke!!
