There is grass along the coastline specially in the south and its very green and beautiful in summer. The Inuits themselves call the country Kalaallit Nunaat "Land of the human beings".
A clear conscience fears no accusation - proverb from Sierra Leone
An African man sits by the lake of contemplation He is surrounded by a landscape of rugged rocks Glaciers touching the indigo sky In a snow filled desert of the Arctic Creating an ambience of pure serenity From a distance the view looks warmly majestic.
The spiritual hues of blues and whites Colour the landscape With contrasts of cold hard smooth soft textures
The sun shines reflecting Its light onto the snow To kiss the faces of Human Beings. of Kalaallit Nunaat.
This is the land of Inuits “the Land Of Human Beings” Where people and dogs Work together in unison To harvest Mother Nature’s bounty.
Kalaallit Nunaat Can be reached by plane from Copenhagen and Rekjavik There are no roads To connect its towns So aeroplanes, helicopters, ships, boats, Snow mobiles and dog sledges Transport people around.
Kalaallit Nunaat is called Greenland Because of its beautiful carpet of green grass Given to it as a gift from Mother Nature.
To cover its Southern coastlines As a blessings of fertility to dress an arid land She also presents Kalaalit Nuaat With the warmth of the sun And as surreal sunsets Illuminate the sky on the horizon The rocks glisten with the glow of appreciation.
Thanks for another wonderful poem Sister Omega. To tell you the truth, I am a fan of LKJ and Mutabaruka
I want to make it clear that the only international plane connection to West Greenland is from Copenhagen and East Greenland is through Rekjavik or locally with domestic flight. The sign board only shows the distance to those cities from Kangerslussauq airport on the west coast just above the Arctic circle. You would have seen London too from another angle.

I would like to dedicate the poem Kalaallit Nunaat to you for inspiring and assisting its conception.[:D.Mommodou I too am a fan of Mutabaruka. But I haven't heard about LJK. I'll check some of his poetry out. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem.

Yes I know Linton Kwesi Johnson the dub poet's work. LKJ had a collection of poetry published by Penguin about three years ago. I also enjoyed listening to Michael Smith before they stoned him to death in Jamaica in the early 80's. Mutaburuka has his own radio programme on the net too.

I think senegal has a tough match on tuesday. They sould really do the kind of game they play with france in last world cup, since egypt as a host team has more environmental advantage over them. But believe they can make it through.Good luck to my brethrens.
