Danq is a fibrous fruit sometimes sweet or sour. There is another related fruit like it called DITAH but which is eated only when it is dry.Danq is mostly found in the interior where the vegeation is dryer. DITAH HOWEVER IS FOUND IN THE KOMBOS OR MRE WET AREAS.

I saw KOONI (JALAN IN mANDINKA) harvested from a palm tree. If the Jalang is not eated it falls down to the ground and it will sprout into seedlings which when opended is very sweet and spongy like. That is called SIBI JATO in Mandinka. Often times it was a source of food in times of difficulties.
