Mile 2 & Palm Grove are again the location of a death, although the administration say they know nothing of this, but someone does,as this paragraph is relevent, surely the Imam would not make such a "mistake" :

"However, a senior Gambian lawyer Antoumana Gaye told The Daily News that, the imam of State House, Abdoulie Fatty, Imam Ratib of Banjul and two other military officers have paid condolence to the deceased’s family. "

Minister of Justice on Hamza Barracks Fatal Incidents
By Abubacarr Saidykhan on 07-09-11

Edward Anthony Gomez, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice was on Tuesday at his office in Banjul, visited by a cross- section of journalists who were concerned about the fatal accident that was allegedly caused by one of the soldiers from Hamza Barracks on the 26th August 2011 that resulted in the loss of the life of one Mariama Ann, a cleaner working with the NGO affairs in Banjul.
The other cause of concern is the incident that occurred on Saturday 26th of August 2011 at the old Palm Grove Hotel now called Hamza Barracks that involved the life of one Mariama Camara, a lance corporal at the State Guard Battalion and a resident of Essau Village and her husband Alpha Jallow.
The Minister of Justice said he cannot ascertain the facts of the two cases since he also got the said information after its occurrence and had not spoken to the authorities in the army or police force.
It was reported to the minister that most of the Public Officers who were approached to shed light on both incidents were not giving sufficient facts for publication.
He said he would have fed journalists with credible information provided that he was in the picture since the beginning of the two incidents, noting that he could not do so because he is not familiar with the two incidents.. He said that public officers are there as Government functionaries not to do anything, but just to adhere to the principles of Democracy and Transparency. He advised that they should not have preconceived minds about journalists.
The minister said he is still the Legal Adviser of the Gambia Police Force and further referred the journalists to see the Police Public Relation Officer ASP Yerro Mballow on both issues before he will make any legal opinion regarding those two matters.
ASP Yerro Mballow Police Public Relations Officer was interviewed in his office in Banjul on the same day regarding new developments about the two deaths, one at the Hamza Barracks and the untimely death of Mariama Ann, but he said for Mariama Ann, the question was news to him and for the victims of Hamza Barracks, they did not have any new development regarding issue.
The Director of NGO Affairs promised to have an interview with the journalists yesterday at 12am regarding the death of Mariama Ann who was working as a cleaner in that department before her untimely death after visiting her son at the central prison who is incarcerated not long ago. Finally he said he was at a meeting at the office of the President in Banjul and would not be able to grant interview to the journalists. The Armed Forces PRO said he is on a weeklong workshop and has not been going to his office since on Monday.

According to Mr Antouman Gaye, the legal counsel for the family of Mariama Ann, it would be too early to take the matter to the courts.

Nyarikangbanna , "duty of care " oh NO please, not politically correct stuff,Sister O will join in if you write stuff like that.
Seriously I disagree with you totally, I think that this is human behaviour only, the death of the old lady was accidental, but having said that driving standards by MOST Gambian drivers are very bad, this like so many other facets of Gambian life is brought about by limited education and training due mainly to the lack of resources and proper equipment.
Gambia is an emerging nation and these things take generations to become implemented, you and I will be well dead before all the outstanding issues in the Gambia ate solved to the satisfaction of the world.

I hope that you have been misinformed about such a horrific event. This is the sort of news no one wants to hear.

What! are these people on a killing spree? This is why we need to talk about duty of care, toubab.

''For The Gambia our homeland, we strive and work and pray that all may live in unity, freedom and peace each day'' - National Anthem

The above is increasingly becoming an elusion for most Gambians.

Thanks

(JollofNews) - News filtering in through the wires from Banjul have it that Several people are feared dead on Wednesday 7 September 2011 by a road traffic accident involving President Jammeh's escort en-route Kanilai. Two vehicles parked off to clear the road for the president's speeding convoy were hit by a black-coloured Land Cruiser in a presidential convoy. The accident happened at Busumbala village, Kombo North of West Coast Region in the Gambia.

According to our sources the convoy was escorting Gambian president Yahya Jammeh from Banjul to his native village of Kanilai where he is spending his annual vacation, which started Tuesday 6 September 2011.

Eye witnesses at scene say the Land Cruiser diverted off the road in an effort to avoid crushing some children standing along the road as has happened in the past. Driver of the presidential convoy who could not control the wheel eventually hit a Mercedes Benz before proceeding further to knock down a 14-passenger commercial van. Both vehicles along others were parked off the road to avoid causing any obstruction as the speeding presidential convoy approached reveals our sources in Banjul.

Unconfirmed reports from Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul indicated among the dead are some passengers from the 14-passenger commercial van.

If the army cares so much about the lives of Gambians, those accused would have been arrested pending investigations.
But the truth is in the Gambia under the monster, one can kill as many as possible as long as you are under the wings of the Tyrant, nothing will happen.
Yahya Jammeh has hijacked the Gambia and is uding it to cause as many deaths as ke sees it fit.x
