Thanks for those very kind words Kaan, such praise is not deserved
but very pleasant to read, thanks,I understand that MOST posters here consider bantaba as their own preserve and a place where they can post what political views take their fancy, I am not political, I dislike politics, I am also a toubab,so in effect I am unwelcome here, for those reasons, you will have noticed I am certain that bantaba in cyberspace has been taken over and those who love Gambia the country have fallen by the wayside, not wishing at all to partake of the political feasting and self congradulation that exists in SOME postings now, bantaba ,in cyberspace has been overtaken as a political talking shop by politicos, that is why so little of common interest is posted. As I say nothing at all to do with me, I am a guest on Momodou's home page where bantaba in cyberspace lives.I post what stuff that I can glean from the internet ,sometimes my research as proved inadequate I can tolerate that and am pleased to accept my mistakes.Special lines for me personally from a great poet, thanks.

Cheers T1020 have a peaceful sunday , if you do drink am sure it is with moderation , I can only visualize you as a person on very firm ground ; sober of thought and sound of mind . How else could you withstand those crude assaults you face on this bantaba if these qualities were not your true attributes. I just want to say keep it up on this free ground let no one cow you into silence and oblivion, but can any body do that ? I think not so see you around buddy!

Kind words again from a "pure heart" bless you Tee and for Dalton i can only say the ones available from the Jola clan would reject you not because you are fula but because you oppose yahya Jammeh ergos no aseki jammataw for you unless you change your stance. Ha ha ha. On a sober note i add that we are in this for what moves us at a given moment those who jump on others may be doing so based on their situations at that given moment, believe me I saw people change their stances several times that I wonder whether they are in competition with chameleons. Yours Tee is that of an observer with no vested interest but like said I do not see any one easily shoving you off the deck figuratively speaking, your feet are firmedly affixed and shall not be moved , stay on buddy no matter what others say do or think.

Regards to Toubab, he is my favorite politician, even though he said he dislikes politics.

Thanks Toubab! You are right people (especially those you do not know) should be taken for who they tell you they are. My sincere apologies.

Toubab,

I am confused myself. Just to clarify, my tag of you being a politician is only based on your participation to different topics, actually only uttered as a compliment to your sober participation on different topics. Your identity wasn't my focus and it has never been. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks,
Yero

Just because I am not a politician and I dislike politics does not mean that I cannot comment on things political that defy common sense and are done for reasons other than to benefit the average Gambian, and I am not a socialist either, just an observer interested in everything Gambian a country full of curious views and goings on, OK a different culture to the one I live in, I hope that helps

Toubab1020, due to direct translation, there is risk loss in word value. It is tricky to reason in one language and write in another. I would imagine that as a universal phenomena. Here is an attempt:

Kaanibaa, ining tonyabaa (Kaanibaa / large pepper with whole truth)
Kano fatiyata (Pepper is spicy)
Kumo beteyaata (The wording is good)
Ibulo kulyaata (Your hand is heavy)
Tillo malata (The sun shines)
Faniyaa borita (falsehood is on the run)
Fano keta (it is day break)
Molu jeleta (people laugh)
Abaraka baakeh, (thank you very much)
Kaano ye kumosi, (the word is peppery)
Kumo ye kaano si (the word is peppery)

OK thanks, I get the drift and understand what you write about, exact meanings are lost in translation and culture the feelings and emotion that would be generated in the mind of a native speaker of that language is lost on someone who does not speak the language .
