UPDATES WHERE CERTAIN RELEVANT FACTS CAN BE GATHERED AS FOLLOWS;
1. SPENT FORCES
STATEMENTS ON AN ELDERLY DYNAMIC CORE UDP LEADER SYNGLE NYASSI WITH FREEDOM NEWS;
"“ Our people are not yet ready for a revolution. Nobody wants to take such risk because the Government had instill fear in the minds of Gambians. There is fear, poverty, and destitution in this country. People are more concern about survival (feeding) and not taking to the streets to demand a regime change. It will take some time before Gambians will realize the urgency of replacing this regime. I hope come the 2011 September elections Gambians will vote in the UDP to power,” Nyassi said.
Mr. Nyassi, 73, is married with three wives, blessed with 18 kids. He has been unemployed for the past 16 years, and doesn’t own a house in The Gambia. His kids, some of whom had received vocational training, have been denied Government employment, because of their Dad’s opposition to the regime, he tells the Freedom Radio.
By appearance, Mr. Nyassi, appeared young, but he is far older than his party leader, Gambian Lawyer Ousainanou Darboe, who is on his last bid for the Presidency—in view of the constitutional age limit attached to the Presidency. But Nyassi is not retiring from politics no time soon.
“ I will continue to oppose this Government until such a time that the UDP take charge of the affairs of the nation. There is no turning back,” Nyassi remarked.

Kobo, I don't want to respond to your this piece for the simple reason that you of all people would never surprise me. All I can tell you is try know something about your party so that you can one day write its legacies. UDP you or any non UDP insider cannot write its legacies. Remember Sanjali Bojang (Late) founded the PPP but can you tell me he can write its legacies? Mr. Touray maybe there when UDP was founded but after leaving was when he last became an insider and anything he says cannot be credible for a lot changed since he last attended its meetings. Stop fooling your self with your sick tribalistic minded hatred sentiments about a party you know so little about. |

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN!
JUST HIGHLIGHT, POINT OUT OR REFER ANYTHING SPECIAL ON "TRIBALISM" FROM ME ON THIS TOPIC APART FROM COMMENTS BY YOURSELF
THESE ARE UP-TO-DATE FACTS ON OUR POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS, FOR FUTURE REFERENCES AND ASSOCIATED WITH BANNING OF P.P.P; WHEREBY CERTAIN POLITICIANS (MAINLY FORMER P.P.P POLITICIANS AND OTHER VETERANS WITHIN RANKS OF OLD ORDER) MARSHALED TO FORM U.D.P. NOMINATING LAWYER DARBOE AS CREDIBLE LEADER (CREDITED FOR DEFENCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS, A HERO THAT FACED THE COMMISSIONS OF ENQUIRIES AND PROTECTING THEM); AFTERMATH OF THE COUP TO MOBILISED, RESUSCITATE THEMSELVES AND/OR ATTEMPT TO SAVE OUR MULTI-PARTY SYSTEM AND GAMBIAN DEMOCRACY. PLEASE REFER BACK ON FOROYAA FOCUS ON POLITICS (WHEN SOME FORMER P.P.P POLITICIANS WERE BANNED AND HOW NEW PARTIES EMERGED OR FORMED) ABOVE
ON THAT NOTE I HAVE BEEN CASTING MY VOTES FOR LAWYER DARBOE AND U.D.P AS REDEEMER BECAUSE WE(ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS) WERE VOTING P.P.P. AND SINCE THERE IS FORMER P.P.P DNA IN U.D.P. IT BECAME OUR CHOICE; LIKE MANY UP-TO-PRESENT DAY. SO HOW CAN I BE GUILTY OF "HATE" AND "TRIBALISM" THEN
THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS TOPIC PROVIDES USEFUL FACTS AND INFORMATION RIGHT ON TRACK OF U.D.P LEGACY FROM ORIGIN TOWARDS THE NEW GENERATION OR NEW ORDER GEARING OWNERSHIP AND AUTHORITY ON U.D.P |

My Last Election to Contest as NAM - Halifa Sallah Monday 8th January 2007
Honourable Halifa Sallah, the Minority Leader of the National Assembly, has stated that he would not seek re-election after the January 25th National Assembly election. Hon. Sallah was speaking to GRTS’ Weekend Upbeat anchored by Malick Jones on Saturday.
According to Hon. Sallah, who is seeking another mandate after serving for the just ended term, whether he wins or not, this will be the last time he would seek re-election as a National Assembly Member.
“If the people of Serrekunda Central decide not to elect me again, I would go into more academic work to work on my PhD,” Halifa said, adding that it is the people who should decide for themselves. Hon. Sallah’s statement came as a response to Malick Jones’ question as to whether he would accept to be nominated as NAM should the APRC sweep the whole 48 constituencies.
Meanwhile, Halifa was on Friday nominated at the I.E.C. regional office in the KMC area.
