Let Kobo, Halifa, Sam and Seedia go to hell. PDOIS is very very insignificant in Gambian politics. They are the worst dictators in Africa. Ever since their inception, they still have those three noggles Halifa, Seedia and Sam occupying that executive position and never try to relinquish it to anyone.I bet if I form a party today, I will pull more than them. They are very selfish and think that they know more than all other Gambians. PDOIS' policies and strategies are very poor and weak hence the outcome of the results in past elections about 25 years never have 4 members in parliament. Kobo I suspect that you were Kukoi's secretary and you always defend him here. You should be investigated and book for the crimes in 1981. I am back to defend the truth. GO AWAY WITH YOUR HATRED KOBO WITH UDP |

Brother Mansasulu,
Far from it the oppositions are neither in disarray nor are we in war. You see even brothers from the same mother do have differences at times when it comes to matters affecting the home. Gambian oppositions have come to a cross road and it is time some records are straightened so that history would not hold any innocent accountable.Thats why we in the UDP camp who have for so long put up with insults and accusations from some of our junior brothers within the whole opposition camp have now felt the need to come out in full force to set the records straight. Where defenders of a united opposition watching when UDP instead of ruling APRC, was the major topic of campaigns redicle from a fellow opposition camp in previous elections? As if the UDP was alredy the party in power that collects the tax payer money to develop the nation? The UDP broke away from NADD and gave its explained reasons but yet still I have not heard anyone condemning some members of other opposition parties that went on campaign platforms criminalising the UDP and calling it all sorts of names and in doing so maybe not to their knowledge, made some so confused that they choose not to vote all. Those baseless accusation against a fellow comrade in the struggle cost the entire opposition votes. Because how do we expect voters vote for us when we fire misiles at each other instead of reminding voters failures of the ruling regime and what we would do when given the chance to look after the affairs of the country's economy and security! Because those who refused to vote would certainly have voted opposition thus reduce the ruling party it margin. Some wouldbe opposition voters I had discussions with in the past told me they were confused as to the accusations and did not know how true they were and that was why they did not vote for UDP. While others told me they wanted to Vote NADD but when they show some NADD members casting accusations and venoms of hatred against a fellow opposition instead of APRC, they refused to vote alltogether. They said they nearly voted APRC in anger but their consciences would not let them. So we have all lost. We knew Jammeh rellies on a lot to win eg foreign votes with some votes bought from poor farmers who could barely control their weekly bread. Not to talk of officials, their family and the backing of the IEC who help register those foreigners. When ever we differ we play into Jammeh's trap because disunited we cannot challenge irregularities of Jammeh and his IEC in unity. UDP has joined NADD before but cercumsatances forced them to witdrew from it.We had gave NADD status with few MPs that could have been UDP MPs? All defenders of truth and non partisan can attest that moment the issue of leadership came to the table, betrays started. We have all heard of secret meetings behind UDP and NRP with secret conversations as if those two were not trusted and if they were not trusted why want them to be part of it? These was an incident when some UDP executive members went to a meeting and some NADD official were having secret talks and the moments those who should have been their colleuges entered(UDP officials), that discussion seized? The records are there for all to see.Not only that mistrusts but heart felt hatred was built by an indivual into NADD and we have now all seen that same brains behind such confusions has after suceeding, left the entire opposition, betrayed his own party and became YAHYA's tool boy I would not hesitate to name him, WAA JUWARA.Halifa Sedia and OJ know what I am talking about. So I belief they need to shame the devil but if they choose to still dance to tunes played by him before, then he alone won and both of us lost. We have said that as far is the name NADD is concern to us we are not part of it We still to show our commitment to a united opposition, proposed a fress start but our counterparts are still bent on trying to fool those who can be fooled that NADD is still workable. HOW? That trend would continue until at such a time we all see the light that the Gambia is above anyone's intellectual mantle or mouth piece.
I would still be happy in case if we fail to unite and went our separate ways to challenge Jammeh and Gambians choose PDOIS or NRP or PPP instead of APRC.If PDOIS comes victorious this year at the polls all oppositions have won thats my belief.
I hope the other party supporters would have wished the UDP the same but you see mansasulu, some of them prefer JAMMEH more to UDP leader Darboe that is the problem.
To reply to your assertions that the Gambia deserves the Sheick! Well you might have a point yes in disunity of those on the right track but not when Gambian have suffered enough and are ready to for go all forms of turture to free themselves.
You see my brother, humans can only be pushed for a time and not until they can't breathe. And as the saying goes " Every DOG has it day" If you are satisfied that:
Gambians can disappear without trace, Gambian can die with misterious circumstances and our state steward and his agents 16 or more years now cannot still tell Gambians and family members how such investigations are going if they are actually being investigated at all, If people your brothers/sisters and my brother/sisters with uncles/aunts ect can be arrested just for expressing their constitutional rights and sent down to mile 2 by hired machinary judges who have no families amongst us to symphatise, Mansasulu who ever you are if you are human and you are still satisfied with your sheick's tactics to us our brothers/sisters in what ever capacity he uses to use them against their fellow brothers/sisters only to turn back against them when he no longer needs them thus accuse them of what ever and send them to death, If above all you still satisfied with your Uncles/aunts/brothers/sisters/childreen and those of all of us to still bow to him as our LORD,
Then I think we might as well return back to pre colonial era and call for the break away of all the former kingdoms the British put together to form the Gambia. If you must know history, they were the kingdoms of KANTORA, WULI, SANDU, FULLADU, GIMARA, NIANI, JARRA, KIANG, KOMBO,NUIMI, BADIBU with the then independant FONI.
Sometimes its better to think before writing on cyber web as the future of ,our children we discuss here and not just a talk show.
Good nite God protects the GAMBIA and HER PEOPLE "........THAT ALL MAY LIVE IN UNITY, FREEDOM AND PEACE EACH DAY!" |

I see the Taliban is back on these isles again. Hey Santa, have you noticed the shortage of suicide bombers in the UK since you joined the fray. Something about you is so offputting that the brothers are begining to value their bodies. It is this same stinking cesspit that seems to have overwhelmed reason among UDP supporters since you became ordained Grand Mullah of the Order of Dobo. Operation Last Chance Saloon is in full swing. Darboe by force. When the dust finally settles after the 2011 elections and reality finally exposes what is a sham political party with a poor leadership structure, commonsense will slowly sanitise the Gambian opposition from the cesspit dug up by you and people of your ilk. Till then enjoy the grand coronation of Dobo. As for that bed bug Ebra coming out of hibernation, what can i say, somebody must be lying on a filthy bed somewhere. |

Yes Shaka, You right somebody must be lying on a filthy bed somewhere. Oh if you must know people are already lying on filthy beds or concretes but mark you even so called supporters ofyour so called self proclaimed Doctors of Aids, Ashma, and professor of brutality, do pay the price. Think hard! history is still been written! If you must know Shaka more of your man's own socalled supporters laid and are still lying onwhat you called filthy beds more than the opposition and who knows next could be your brother or even mine who still blindly support him. Also before I go I want to remind you that in the UDP despite your hatred, we speak independantly so I don't speak for Darboe and never will for he can speak for himself I am excercising my democratic rights defending what I believed in. Which your so called KING who never had royal leneage and never will and who because of people like you whose selfish hatred for yourselves and future of your children want him crowned above all of you as a king in your dreams, never tolerates in the APRC. Everybody must speak his tongue, work on his farm and dance to his tunes wressle for him for his cash and eat his charmed food as beggers.
In the UDP we don't have that I have never asked Darboe's permission to write what I think is right even if that conflicts with his views. I respect his and expects him to respect mine.I will ofcause welcome his advice as he is older and wisdom lies with the old if he chooses to advice me on any issue and would seek one if I need it. |

Shaka or chako I don't know which one. You think I came from hallucination, you are damn wrong. Am here in Kanilai eating meat and brewing attaya for the King Babilmansa. I am UDP, NRP, GMC supporter and BA Yaya's big fan but not 'people deaf on inner sense' PDOIS. Here are the fact to back my claims. Since PDOIS's inception we see the same faces occupying the executive position... namely Seedia, Halifa and Sam. Is this not true. PDOIS has poor strategies of convincing voters to accept their policies. Since inception they never pulled even 10% of the votes. If the strategies are good then by now they will be the largest oppostion party in Gambia but we are seeing contrary. They are dictators because they fail to relinquish their position to the young and smart one or even recruiting and give others chance. So tell me how I came from hallucination. You better rally behind Jammeh as he is the one leading us. |

If you do you would realise that Gambians are no fools and never would be. I AGREE GAMBIANS ARE NO FOOLS; THEREFORE ALL OPPONENTS SHOULD REALISED THAT WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER; BE IT UDP OR PDOIS. FURTHERMORE COALITION BUILDING IS LIKE ANY SIMPLE FORMATION OF A CONTRACT/AGREEMENT INITIALISED TO START BETWEEN "PARTIES TO AN AGREEMENT/CONTRACT"; FOLLOWED BY "BARGAINING, NEGOTIATIONS"; "OFFER & ACCEPTANCE"; "FORMALITIES"; "TERMS & CONDITIONS"; "PERFORMANCE & EXECUTION" ETC.
THEREFORE THE FACTS ARE THAT;
1. THERE IS THE NEED FOR ALL OPPONENTS TO FORM A UNITED FRONT/COALITION TO STRATEGICALLY & TACTICALLY MOBILISED MASS PUBLIC SUPPORT OR OPINION IN FORTHCOMING ELECTIONS.
2. HERE MARK MY WORDS AS GENERALLY; APPLYING TO BOTH UDP, PDOIS & OTHER PARTIES THEREFORE ALL OPPOSITION PARTIES ARE BARGAINING PARTNERS/PARTIES AND NOT COMPETITORS
3. IF THERE IS SINCERITY INSTEAD OF ALLOWING MEDIA PROPAGANDA TO GROW ITS HEAD; WHEN PDOIS/NADD WROTE A FORMAL LETTER TO UDP DURING ITS CONGRESS; ON WHAT FORM OF ALLIANCE PLANS THEY GET FOR 2011, THEY SHOULD HAVE COME UP WITH A PROPER RESPONSE TO THAT LETTER & INCORPORATING RESOLUTIONS? THAT HAS NEVER BEEN DONE; EXCEPT THE MERE PROPAGANDA STATEMENTS WE GATHER ON-LINE FROM MILITANTS, INTERVIEWS WITH DARBOE AS UDP LEADER & INFORMAL DISCUSSIONS BETWEEN DARBOE/SIDIA JATTA!
4. THEREFORE PDOIS/NADD IS ON COURSE IN TRYING TO BUILD A FORMIDABLE COALITION; FROM LETTER WRITTEN TO UDP SOLICITING TO KNOW ANY ALLIANCE PLANS NOTED ON POINT 3.
Sometimes I laugh out loud when I read your articles I love reading them I must confessAM GETTING KNAGGED READING JUNK, GABBAGE & RUBBISH; PARTICULARLY SMEARING CAMPAIGN AGAINST PDOIS & SOME OF OUR DECENT POLITICIANS/DEMOCRATS!
You said.....
PRIMARIES IS AN OPTION OR ONE OF THE PROPOSALS TO NOMINATE OR ELECT COALITION/ALLIANCE/UNITED FRONT FLAG BEARER. ITS NOT ONLY PRIMARIES, THEY ARE SELLING AGENDA 2011 AS A COMPREHENSIVE DOCUMENT; WITH A SET OF PROPOSALS & THE CONDITIONS THAT FAVOUR PGOIS POSITION ; IN THE EVENT FORMAL NEGOTIATION STARTS!
My brother I must stop reading and ask Look at your own words closely and tell me do you think Gambians are fools? Read you statement your self I have hilighted the cornestone of you agenda. what about a collective conditions that favour all parties and all Gambians? YOU SHOULD RE-VISIT AGENDA 2011 AND TELL ME WHERE IT FAVOURS PDOIS MORE THAN ANY OTHER OPPOSITION; ESPECIALLY UDP?
TO MY KNOWLEDGE IT FAVOURS ALL GAMBIANS; ESPECIALLY PROPOSAL FOR PRIMARIES IN SELECTION OF FLAG BEARER (WHICH YOU DON'T COMPREHEND AS FEASIBLE); IS OPEN FOR ANY INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE WITHOUT A POLITICAL PARTY TO BE NOMINATED AS A PRESIDENT! ALL ISSUES WHERE RESOLUTIONS ARE REQUIRED IS ADDRESSED BY PDOIS IN A TRANSPARENT MANNER!
THEY ARE NOT DICTATING THAT IT MUST BE IMPLEMENTED BUT PROPOSALS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS TABLED BY PDOIS (TO REPRESENT ITS RESOLUTIONS SEEKING TO SYNCHRONISED) WITH OTHER BARGAINING PARTIES; FOR ANY ALLIANCE/COALITION/UNITED FRONT FORMATION PROCESS!
Again you talked about.....
ME NOT GAINING ANY POLITICAL POINT ON MY PREVIOUS REMARK! PDOIS/FOROYAA CONTRIBUTED MASSIVELY TO CREATE AWARENESS ON CIVIC EDUCATION, CITIZENSHIP, SOVEREIGNTY, POLITICS, ETC FOR GAMBIANS THE RECORDS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES ON LEADERS OF PDOIS & PDOIS AS A PARTY IN TERMS OF INTEGRITY,PRINCIPLES, POLICIES & AS TRUE DEMOCRATS!
I have never disputed PDOIS's contribution and never aimed to gain anything on putting the facts before the whole world that last elections PDOIS was campaingnig against UDP than APRC and which is true. I always commend PDOIS's contribution to our national sencitisation process through it mouth piece FOROYAA and wish they would continue for still hundreds of thousands of Gambians still either did not understand their message,Or they are not interested! PDOIS LEADERS KNEW ITS A LIFETIME CHALLENGE TO EXECUTE CIVIC DUTY & CREATE POLITICAL AWARENESS TO MAKE THEM "INTERESTED" OR "UNDERSTAND THEIR MESSAGE"; IN THE SERVICE OF THE NATION!
YOU FORGET TO GIVE THEM CREDIT; AS VANGUARDS OF SELFLESS SACRIFICE, MASS EDUCATION, MASS EMPOWERMENT & NATIONAL INTERESTS
But even so, my brother Kobo the above doestnot give PDOIS license to still think Gambians can be carried away.If they advocate for freedom of speach, and values democracy so much then they would respect the wishes of the voters who want a partyled coalition. I DON'T GET YOUR POINT THAT PDOIS GET LICENCE TO MISLEAD GAMBIANS; HOW?
LET UDP BE BOLD TO SHOW LEADERSHIP & FORMALLY ENGAGED ALL OPPOSITION PARTIES TOGETHER (INCLUDING PDOIS)TOWARDS COALITION/ALLIANCE/UNITED FRONT; THEN CONVINCE THEM WITH MODALITIES & SOUND RESOLUTIONS THAT CAN BACK A UDP PARTY-LED COALITION
AS IT STANDS THE FACT IS THAT OF BACK-ROOM DEALS OR UDP MAINTAINING PARTNERSHIP & SOLIDARITY WITH NRP; UNDER THEIR 2006 ALLIANCE PACT WHICH ISOLATED PDOIS/NADD!
I would make it simple UDP has more followers than PDOIS inside the Gambia now RIGHT? IT DOESN'T MATTER TO COUNT THE CHICKS BEFORE THAY HATCH! THE NUMBERS SHOULD BE MAKE TO IMPROVE THE POLITICAL GAINS OF OPPONENTS OF JAMMEH/APRC. THEY (UDP & PDOIS) ARE IN THE SAME BOAT OF CREWS, ENGINEERS & CAPTAINS. THE COALITION/ALLIANCE/UNITED FRONT IS A STRATEGIC/TACTICAL RESOLUTION TO GATHER MORE STRENGTH, MORE POPULARITY & MOBILSED MORE PUBLIC OPINIONS FOR COMMON GOAL (BOTH UDP & PDOIS) OF BRINGING DOWN JAMMEH/APRC! Why can't the PDOIS just accept that fact and see reality?
But instead my dear brother in the stroggle you went on...
BEFORE UDP EXISTED JAMMEH DEPOSED PPP. PPP HAD A LEGACY & THEY WERE BANNED WHILST UDP UPROOTED TO BENEFIT FROM HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS AGAINST JAMMEH/APRC. POLITICS IS A DYNAMIC PROCESS!
Waau but PDOIS was in existance since the first republic and is the oldest party in the first elections since the ban was just lifted. Tell me brother kobo how comes since the first republic PDOIS has been sensiticing, educating through their mouth piece FOROYA, and campaign through PDOIS yet their message seems taken but politically they are light weight and any new party created today can defeate PDOIS? WE DON'T HAVE A STRONG OPPOSITION PARTY THAT CAN DEFEAT JAMMEH/APRC ALONE
I think Gambians are yet to understand what PDOIS meant by SOCIALISM. A lay man in provincial villages like SAMBA TAKO, KULU KULEH, TINKINJO, MAMPATAYEL villages far interior or should I come cloce to the road and Choose MAKA MASSEREH? These people can barely read FOROYA and even if they can they don't have the time.PDOIS ARE SOUND DEMOCRATS, UNDERSTAND ART OF GOVERNMENT & DECENT POLITICIANS! THE REST IS PETTY & CARICATURES!
Kobo it is not the fault of UDP with PDOIS message staying in the loud speakers they used as it seems people don't hear them that clearly. So leave us alone" ether accept us as partners in a common effort to unseat Jammeh and restore Democracy or we all continue to pay the price for disagreeing.
Kobo you said.....I am sure you refering to somebody's comments that you said validates ......
..............PDOIS POSITION ON TWO POINTS COVERED IN AGENDA 2011!
POINT 1. "THERE IS A BASIS FOR OPPOSITION" & THE NEED TO MOBILISE THE MASS TO ADDRESS VOTER APATHY
Tell us Mr. how do we do that?
POINT 2. THE NEED FOR ALL OPPOSITION PARTIES TO CONSIDER A FORMIDABLE ALLIANCE & ADOPT BEST STRATEGY FOR 2011
How do we do that? Go by your proposal or if we don't accept which we definately would not, you do what you always do.
Campaign against UDP and forget AFPRC?
No problem then UDP is the threat to PDOIS/NADD not APRC.
If only you accept the facts and ask us the UDP to come up with a frame work of strategies as how we want to lead a coalition and then meke your points clear and how you would want changes or ammendments with some proposals included. But how could you come up with agenda 2011 without consulting any future partner and expect us to go by that yet call us reluctant to form alliance. My God no one hates PDOIS within the UDP we would have wish PDOIS to defeate Jammeh at the pools and I hope PDOIS also wish us the same.
But not the likes of kobo.
LONG LIVE THE GAMBIA AND HER PEOPLE

My dear brother inthe struggle,Oh kobo we never intend to INSANE you at all we just felt the time has come to put records straight. Now we are talking to the public and tell them when and where did the UDP tried to twist facts or smeared the PDOIS/NADD coalition in the past tell them brother kobo tell them.A daniel has come to judgement. If you ask me as to when PDOIS/NADD smeared against UDP I would just with thousand answers. In 2006 presidential campaign, PDOIS/NADD serekunda central meeting, the main topic of campain was the UDP until the meeting ends. Also your meetings in Basse and Bajakunda everything was about the UDP this the UDP that. Kobo maybe you are hiding somewhere in Europe and don't know the facts on the ground I just gave you few examples now you too give me facts.
......I AGREE GAMBIANS ARE NO FOOLS; THEREFORE ALL OPPONENTS SHOULD REALISED THAT WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER; BE IT UDP OR PDOIS. FURTHERMORE COALITION BUILDING IS LIKE ANY SIMPLE FORMATION OF A CONTRACT/AGREEMENT INITIALISED TO START BETWEEN "PARTIES TO AN AGREEMENT/CONTRACT"; FOLLOWED BY "BARGAINING, NEGOTIATIONS"; "OFFER & ACCEPTANCE"; "FORMALITIES"; "TERMS & CONDITIONS"; "PERFORMANCE & EXECUTION" ETC......
Brother kobo, in any contract there has to be what legal experts called MEETING OF MINDS. in our case there was none. You sent us your proposals as the only guiding principle for any future coalition agenda 2011.And as for the meeting between Sedia and Ousainou, how comes the moment after that meeting, Sedia went on paper trying to gain points by fabricating lies. What went wrong? Where did confidentiality went.Oh was it that Sedia and PDOIS went there just for the sake of going thereby after try and smear as they have previously benn doing against the UDP. You very right we in this together and either we put up together or pull it off apart.
THEREFORE THE FACTS ARE THAT;
1. THERE IS THE NEED FOR ALL OPPONENTS TO FORM A UNITED FRONT/COALITION TO STRATEGICALLY & TACTICALLY MOBILISED MASS PUBLIC SUPPORT OR OPINION IN FORTHCOMING ELECTIONS.
Kobo you are absolutely rightand I coment no further on point no.1
2. HERE MARK MY WORDS AS GENERALLY; APPLYING TO BOTH UDP, PDOIS & OTHER PARTIES THEREFORE ALL OPPOSITION PARTIES ARE BARGAINING PARTNERS/PARTIES AND NOT COMPETITORS.
Again you are right so tell your party PDOIS to stop competing with us for we should both or ene individually compete with the ruling APRC not with each other.
In your point no.3 brother kobo, you got everything wrong. UDP only had their congress two months or so before chrismas. If PDOIS/NADD was so long interested in a strong coalition why have you all the past four years since the last election failed to make an effort. You knew we in the UDP camp had tried on somany occations only to be repelled by Halifa asking us to negiciate with Sedia who kept himself busy throughout. Writing a proposal in the dying hour doesnot show any sincerity and in any impartial opinion,it would be clear to show that you waited until the dying minutes of 2010 so that negociations would fall into 2011 and thus everything would be haistly done thus when it comes to major issues, we would not agree or our differences would hang in the balance.
Kobo you are wrong I gave them credit ofcause and said they should continue educating us. But what is important is as I gave you example of provincial villages like KULU KULEH, TINKING JO, MAMPATAYEL, or even MAKA MASSEREH. Kobo I said those villages and thousands like them may not be ables to have the time to read FOROYA or PDOIS civic education they think of their daily bread. I did said PDOIS need to sensitice such about the true meaning of socialism as most people thought wery of SOCIALISM.
Maybe their meaasge ends in the loud speakers they used I said. Now I said I would have wished PDOIS/NADD defeate Jammeh at the polls if voters reject UDP and ask you to wish me the same. |

Janyanfara,
There are lots of people yearning for change in Gambia. A lot of people sitting on the fence who would make the difference when given an acceptable choice. During the last general elections, so many people stayed at home because none of the options on the ballot are acceptable to them. Until we get these people off the fence the Sheikh will continue to be (to quote Moe) the "HNIC".
We all know the direction of the country under the APRC. We may not like it, but at least we know. As for the opposition, we don't know where we are headed with them, because they are all not on the same page. The UDP alone cannot unseat Jammeh. Numerically, it is impossible. We all know that. So laying the blame on other opposition parties is not going to get us anywhere.
I am going to sit out this election and the only reason I will show up at the ballot box is if there is a referendum on turning Gambia into a Kingdom and I will proudly VOTE YES! The reason is that if we turn Gambia into a Kingdom, it will accelerate our journey to hit rock bottom and only them can we wake up and truely come together and demand real change. With the current state of disarray amongst the opposition camp, I feel this is the only viable choice I am left with. We cannot go past rock bottom, so the only logical progression we can make from that situation is to rise up, at least that is what common sense teaches all of us.
It took 40 years of oppression and marginalization under the PPP government, (a generation) before the Army swept them away, so I believe it will take another generation, 25 more years under the Sheikh or the system he is building for us to make another generational shift if we do not get our acts together now. There is been far too much of the blame game going on.
I propose all the current crop of the oppostion leaders step aside and let there be a free for all within Jammeh's generation and whoever rises to the top we all follow. Darboe, OJ, Halifa, and Sedia and co cannot lead us into the future because they are part of yesterday and today(they can only guide). We have to do this, and sooner we step up to the plate the easier the task will become.

Janyafara! AM DONE FOR I CAN'T DESUADE YOU ON IRRELEVANT PETTY ISSUES, PETTINESS & BLAME GAME; THAT STALLS ANY LAST MINUTE CHANCE! THE FACT IS THAT UDP WAS ENGAGED FORMALLY IN WRITING WITH THIS STATEMENT; "PDOIS wrote to UDP before its Congress to indicate to them that the party was waiting for the resolution of the UDP Congress on inter party unity in order to know what form of Alliance could be forged for 2011. "
1. WHY UDP DIDN'T REACT WITH A FORMAL REPLY TO PDOIS/NADD?
2. WHY UDP CANNOT TAKE LEADERSHIP (AS THEY LEGITIMISE THEMSELVES TO BE SO); IN SANCTIONING FORMALLY; INVITING ALL OTHER OPPOSITION PARTIES OR OPPONENTS INTERESTED IN UNITED FRONT/COALITION/ALLIANCE TOWARDS COALITION BUILDING?
3. WHY UDP DID NOT TAGGED THE ADVOCACY OF UDP PARTY LED COALITION WITH MODALITIES & PROPER SOUND RESOLUTIONS SALEABLE TO OTHER OPPONENTS OF JAMMEH/APRC TO BACK IT
4. WHY SHOULD WE LET HAMAT BAH ESCAPE WITH THIS STATEMENT AND CASTIGATING PDOIS/NADD CHEAPLY; "“I’m not interested in any opposition alliance, because I have invested so much efforts into a political alliance and I have realized that the partnership of calling an opposition alliance in this country is not genuine, and I don’t want to be in any situation that is not genuine. There is more hatred; there is a lot of hatred within the opposition circles than outsiders may think,” he said. WHAT EFFORTS WERE INVESTED APART FROM FORMING A FACTION WITH UDP
WHAT INTEREST ME IS YOU SAID LEGALLY "MEETING OF MINDS" ALSO COME INTO PLAY? HOW CAN THERE BE "MEETING OF MINDS" BETWEEN UDP & PDOIS, IF THERE IS NO PROPER LINES OF FORMAL COMMUNICATION & SERIOUS BUSINESS TOWARDS COALITION BUILDING DIALOGUE; WITHOUT ANY PRE-CONDITION DON'T MIS-CONTRUE PDOIS/NADD RESOLUTIONS AS PRE-CONDITIONS; AS THEY ARE MERE COMPREHENSIVE PROPOSALS TO ADDRESS ISSUES THAT REQUIRE SOUND RESOLUTIONS; FOR CONSIDERATION IN NATIONAL INTERESTS & MUTUAL BENEFIT OF ALL PARTIES
AS FAR AM AWARE PDOIS/NADD AGENDA 2011 BENEFITS ALL OPPONENTS OF JAMMEH/APRC & NOT EXCLUSIVELY PDOIS/NADD! PLEASE REVISIT RELATED BANTABA GAMBIAN POLITICS TOPIC;

Hey Zum Zum man, wassup? Namonala tamit. I'm glad i am not the only one who noticed the weird behaviour of some of our fellow Bantabarian. This is no Zum Zum effect, Zum Zum has no hallucinogen. This is a nyamo effect. You and the Sheikh got to stop playing with our intelligence. The same weed that was pounced on by the NDEA in their recent raids in Foni found its way in Bantaba, even though it is officially claimed to have been destroyed. Quit playing with us. We know the difference between nyamo and ngogne. You are dangerous people. Have you noticed that Ebra is "back from hallucination." Being a supporter of the Sheikh does not mean you have to involve him in the business. He smoked the whole consignment you gave him to deal. Be careful man, some people don't have a 'strong' head.quote: Originally posted by Moe

Somita MANY THANKS AS YOU POINT OUT VERY IMPORTANT VALID POINTS!

Guys, lets be realistic, the opposition in The Gambia is dead, yet no opposition party or individual has the guts to revitalise the opposition base but instead they choose to squible about alliance leadership. This is absolute madness because as things stand, Jammeh is guaranteed to win, alliance or without alliance. Let me tell you, most youths here, rather talk about their new double sim mobile with bluetooth, radio, video and picture facilities rather than talk about politics. Ok that is generalisation.... too simplistic but what am trying to get to is that your debates seem not taking into account the facts on the ground. You seem to think that there will be a contest come the next election but from my observation, the contest is less and less significant, infact if the opposition continue this path, I can confirm to you with out fear of exergeration that Jammeh will win with over 80% of the votes. This is because the only people who will vote are Jammeh's supporters the rest would rather stay at home. In some countries they say a day is too long in politics, in the Gambia opposition leaders and parties can afford to take holiday for years and suddenly appear before election even then without policies or programmes. Our situation is not just bad, its worse, neither governement of the day nor the opposition has any policies or programmes for our people. Of course they all make statements, including making everything a priority but in the end i have not seen any document that states clearly the way forward for the country, including how to tackle unemployment, improve quality of education, quality of heath care delivery, improve manufacuring base etc. The so call manifesto are an insult to the intelligency of our people but luckily most of us dont read them ....they are full of broad statements at best, lacking basic facts and figures, at worse they do not worth the paper they are written on. For the main time the jornalistic fraternity is only busy reproducing them to public without scruity (i will save my opinion for the Gambia journalist for another article). Regarding the so call alliance negotiation, of course every party has a right to table their list of conditions, but any one with acute knowledge of negotiation knows that negotiating via the media is doom for failure. I wounder if the party leaders are going into this process to be seen to be doing something with the hope that they fail or are they manifesting their incompetence. The business of running a country, i.e governing people with different ideas, values etc, must be about negotiating with the ability to strike a fair balance, so if our leaders cannot negotiate, what does that tell us about them?
Mansasulu. MANY THANKS TO YOU ALSO FOR YOUR COMMENTS.
I HOPE MANY UNDERSTANDS & APPRECIATE YOUR VIEWS AS I CONCUR WITH YOU? BOTH OF YOU HAVE EXPRESSED HOW DISAPPOINTED & BAD IT IS THAT OUR OPPOSITION PARTIES CANNOT COME TO TERMS & ARE FAILING TO MARSHALL A FORMIDABLE UNITED FRONT TOWARDS THE COMMON GOOD

LAST NIGHT WHEN LISTENING TO FREEDOM RADIO; A GAMBIAN ELDER DECLARED THAT HAMAT BAH IS THE ONLY COURAGEOUS LEADER & FIT TO FACE PRESIDENT JAMMEH!
HE DEFENDED HIS OPINION AS CREDITING HAMAT BAH TO BE MOST OUTSPOKEN; VOCAL POLITICIAN & CRITIC AGAINST JAMMEH!
OTHERS TEND TO DISAGREE AS THEY SEE HAMAT BAH'S POLITICS WITH MIXED MESSAGES!TO THEM HAMAT BAH IS A CON POLITICIAN; WITH DOUBLE STANDARDS, MANIPULATOR, DRAMATIST, STUNT MASTER & EXPLOITER OF HIS POLITICAL STATUS/PARTY FOR PERSONAL BENEFIT TO ACQUIRE WEALTH ONLY (FOR HE IS NOW TRANSFORMED OVER TIME OF JAMMEH'S RULE AS BUSINESS TYCOON IN HOTEL INDUSTRY)!
REFER QUOTES EXTRACTED ABOVE LINKS:"Regarding your observations about Hamat, that is the news I expect and I will be very surprised if news about Yaya cutting a deal with Hamat will not be flushed out before it all ends. The same mixed messages we saw when Waa sold his soul, is the same stunt Hamat is manifesting.
Onward we march to seek other meaningful partnership, and enough with the games."
AN OVERVIEW & ASSESSMENT OF HAMAT BAH & NRP ROLES IN COALITION MIX & TIP OF THE BALANCE AGAINST JAMMEH OVERTIME; 2006 TO 2011
REFER IEC WBDSITE FOR REGISTERED PARTIES UNDER http://www.iec.gm/political-parties/registered-parties
1. THE POINT NEWSPAPER REPORTS 24TH MAY 2010; "Briefing reporters, Hamah Bah also opined that the disintegration of the National Alliance for Democracy and Development (NADD), meant the opposition had squandered the golden opportunity given to them by God and the people of The Gambia."
SO UNDER NADD WE HAD ALL MAIN REGISTERED OPPOSITION PARTIES MOBILISED BY STGDP (PROPONENTS OF UNITED FRONT) & A COALITION/ALLIANCE EXISTED BETWEEN UDP, NRP, PDOIS, PPP & NDAM! = OUT OF 3 BYE-ELECTIONS NADD CAMPAIGNED (UNDER ONE UMBRELLA) & WAS SUCCESSFUL IN WINNING 2 OF 3 ELECTIONS & APRC 1; BEFORE DIS-INTEGRATION TOWARDS GENERAL ELECTIONS!
FOLLOWED BY BREAKAWAY UDP/NRP ALLIANCE Vs NADD = MORE WEAKNESS FOR OPPOSITION & OPPONENTS AS SPLITS OF VOTES & SUPPORT ALWAYS GAVE MORE ADVANTAGE TO JAMMEH/APRC & INCREASING VOTER APATHY?
2. IN 2010 BEFORE GMC BACK DOOR INTRODUCTION OF FORMING ALLIANCE WITH UDP, THESE STATEMENTS WERE ON RECORD IN MAY 24 2010; "The NRP leader further told the journalists that he has no intention of joining anybody in any alliance for a single candidate in the forthcoming presidential, parliamentary and local government elections."= THAT CLEARLY DEPICTS HAMAT BAH & NRP WERE OUT ALREADY WITH UDP EARLIER THAN EXPECTED; WITH FURTHER OPPOSITION SPLITS INTO FOUR MORE GROUPS PLUS UN-ALLIED OPPOSITION PARTY OF GPDP = 5 GROUPS Vs JAMMEH/APRC & BETTER CHANCE OF CONSOLIDATING POWER & "THY KINGDOM COME!"
FRAGMENTED OPPOSITION 5 GROUPS DEPICTED AS;
GROUP 1= [UDP/GMC] + GROUP 2 = [NRP] + GROUP 3 = [NADD (PDOIS+PPP)] + GROUP 4 = [GPDP] + GROUP 5 [GMC (PRO APRC)]
ALL THESE 5 GROUPS ARE LIGHT WEIGHTS AGAINST SUPER HEAVY WEIGHT APRC! THEREFORE STRATEGICALLY & TACTICALLY IT MAKES MORE SENSE FOR ALL OPPOSITION TO PULL RESOURCES TOGETHER UNDER A UNITED FRONT OR ONE UMBRELLA; TO BE CONSIDERED SUPER HEAVY WEIGHT; IM MY OPINION!
3. AFTER GMC MAKES ALLIANCE WITH UDP NRP NEVER MADE ANY FORMAL COMMUNICATION OR ISSUE A PRESS RELEASE TO THAT EFFECT; APPEARED DEFUNCT & NOT BOTHERED TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL ISSUES OR HAVING INTERESTS OF NATION AT HEART
THE ONLY TRICKY CARD PLAYED BY HAMAT BAH & NRP THROUGHOUT IS DECLARING MIXED MESSAGES! AS SO-CALLED ALLY WITH DARBOE/UDP WE ARE WITNESSING ALWAYS AN UNDERCURRENT OF CONFLICTING & HOSTILE STATEMENTS THAT UNDERMINE COALITION PARTNERSHIP & SOLIDARITY FROM HIM (I.E. VARIOUS QUOTES ESPECIALLY);
1. "“I will not be a party to any opposition alliance in the coming election, but I will be a candidate in it. I will be a Presidential candidate and my name will be on the ballot boxes come the 2011 election." = YOU DECIDE
2. "“I’m not interested in any opposition alliance, because I have invested so much efforts into a political alliance and I have realized that the partnership of calling an opposition alliance in this country is not genuine, and I don’t want to be in any situation that is not genuine. There is more hatred; there is a lot of hatred within the opposition circles than outsiders may think,” he said. = YOU DECIDE
3. "Let me repeat that, and make it abundantly clear for everybody to hear, and I hope that would clear the doubts left in the minds of some people, who do not believe in the statement I made at Soma during the UDP congress, and the ones I made to the press during my previous interviews. I want to repeat it again, and say that I will, by the grace of God, be a candidate in the coming Presidential Election. That is absolutely clear. " = YOU DECIDE
4 "I’m not interested in any opposition alliance, because I have invested so much efforts into a political alliance, and I have realized that the partnership of calling an opposition alliance in this country is not genuine, and I don’t want to be in any situation that is not genuine. "= YOU DECIDE
I WONDER WHETHER HAMAT BAH/NRP ARE USING ITS PROXY IN PROMOTING A UNITED FRONT/COALITION/ALLIANCE UNDER ONE UMBRELLA OR TAKING RISKS, DOUBLE STANDARDS, IN-DECISIVE DECISION MAKING, SELFISH, HOSTILE & RIPPER(S) OF ANY PROSPECT OF FORMING A FORMIDABLE COALITION
AS SECOND OPPOSITION PARTY PULLING "LARGEST/HIGHEST VOTES" THROUGH GENERAL ELECTIONS WITH APRC, AM THINKING OR ASSUMING THAT THERE COULD BE AN FORMAL AGREEMENT OR PACT IN UDP & NRP ALLIANCE BETWEEN THEM; TO PUSH FORWARD THE AGENDA & PROSPECTIVE MANDATES FOR DARBOE TO LEAD AS PRESIDENT & HAMAT BAH VICE PRESIDENT TO BE EXECUTED; (NOT OFFICIALLY SEEN OR OPENLY DECLARED)
I MUST ADMIT & ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT HAMAT BAH & NRP ARE ENVIABLY DANGEROUS IN GAMBIAN POLITICS AND ANY WINNING FORMULA FOR OPPOSITION!
IN SOME CAMPS & CERTAIN OPINIONS HAMAT BAH & NRP CAN BE PROFILED WITH THESE TAGS; "ROOKIE POLITICIAN", "CON POLITICIAN", "SEASONAL POLITICIAN", "JOKER & TRICKSTER POLITICIAN" TO "MOST "FIT FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE" AS MOST VOCAL & COURAGEOUS OPPOSITION LEADER! = YOU DECIDE |
