Comment: Hi,
I have just returned from the
Gambia which included a visit to Abuko Nature Reserve. I just wanted
to let you know that last week (Beginning of December 2005) the only
lion in the nature reserve escaped from the enclosure and was shot
dead. The Nature reserve no longer has a lion.
We were not given
any further information at Abuko from the guides as to how the lion
escaped or why it could not be tranqualised and not shot.
