Two people are reported to have died as a result of being electrocuted in Banjul on Monday, The Point has been reliably informed.
The incident is reported to have occurred around Bond Road. The deceased Fafa Gai and his apprentice succumbed to death when they were electrocuted by an electric cable.
A source who is familiar with the matter and spoke to The Point on the condition of anonymity confirmed the development, saying: “The driver and his apprentice had loaded a truck with stones and were in the process of offloading. During the course, the truck hit an electric cable belonging to NAWEC cable leading to the driver’s electrocution. As the driver called for help, his apprentice rushed to his rescue and equally got electrocuted and unfortunately they all died.”
The deceased, our source added were all laid to rest yesterday.
