We watched the troops on a medal parade
Nicely dressed to impress
They marched in groups with harmless arms
Swinging their well toned arms to and fro
On the field called the parade grounds
Each lead by a platoon commander
Who shouts outs the words of command
And like zombies they obeyed all with out fail

That was a show of pride
A show of honor and duty
To nation and their people
Then one day all changed for worse
They now go on parade not to show loyalty to the nation
Instead its a show of might
As they tote rifles and automatic guns
To frighten and thus be held in awe

Do we clap for them
Do we show love
Or do we sit on the podiums in pretense
Hoping that the cycle is reverse to the former ?
Yet among the spectators are some who harbor hope
That in them lies salvation
Albeit seeing one fall too many of such aspirants
But like those addicted to pain
They hang on forever with that hope

In that group of marching men are some in camouflage mode
They vacillate
Changing colors like chameleons
As it fits them
At times they sing songs of praise
At other times they shower abuse
All this while; others remain mute
During that parade in the fields
Of honor or dishonor
All dependent on a certain perspective
But of the lot is a special guy
Who stands out
He is but a turncoat
And has been from the word go

Hie many thanks for nice comments, and I hope you guys had a fab Tobaski feast albeit our common problem of bad governance back home.I wish all many happier returns and some of us celebrate the 20 years of APRC rule with joy others surely moan the period..yet it is a period of reflection for us all. Let us think again about how we came to this status as surely we did not stumble into it but walked into it; with some fully aware of the impending threat which turned into reality, somewhere, somehow, some one among our people; who should know, did know that this was gonna happen but left things to roll over perhaps they felt it was okay but with plenty of water passing under that bridge of fate perhaps they will now see that things could have been better otherwise. Others too might feel this was the best thing that could happen to them and the country. As always you cannot have all citizens agree on a political situation or outcome , so we get to try to sort things out on a daily basis and allow our living process to develop i hope in a peaceful and organised manner rather than in a tumultuous way as is the trend in manner or climes. May God guide our actions towards the common good rather than selfish ones ameen.
