Different parties are known to be making pronouncements or taking initiatives to prepare to mobilise their supporters for 2016. The ruling party also caught the people by storm when it announced that it was holding a congress in March. It appears that no party is going to wait until few months before an election to be active. The Gambian people are the subject of all political activities and no political party could have clout unless it is given recognition by the people. Hence no matter how much effort political parties make to be with the people if they do not receive the support of the people they cannot be relevant. The support of the people is what makes a political party relevant. Hence the people should be making plans to be as active as the political parties in order to have a vibrant political system that would stimulate hope and promise of a better future.
Foroyaa will follow the debate among the political parties so as to present divergent views to enable the public to make informed choice. We hope the electronic media especially GRTS , the state media, will follow suit.
