some members of the bantaba have asked about my project. My last one was a library for St theresa's school in Westfield. I paid for the renovations, termite treatment, paint and new ceiling. they now have a library that is for the use of the pupils. The next will be books for a library Brikama Methodist senior secondary school. Each shipment has been about books and schools. it has been stressful because it time it has arrived in Banjul the system is confusing from going to customs house and being asked for 700 dls to complete a form that costs 70dls. To dealing with an agent that was not licenced. It has taken me a long time to reach the decision to carry on regardless and make contacts with helpful Gambians, that is what I joined Bantaba for. In the past the debates have been enjoyable but lately real awful people threatening legal action, accusations, wrongful things being said. What is that all about. I was taught if you cannot say anything nice do not say anything at all. It has been a long learning curve for me. sometimes things have gone wrong and others have gone right. Nothing is perfect. it is bad enough that I am dealing with a family who have a soldier that has gone missing but to listen to some of the nasty personal uncalled comments from bantaba members does not help. To all of you who have helped with my enquiries thank you. to other other who have made kind comments thank you. To others who have been nasty and personal, no comment. I leave with dignity. I never joined bantaba for this.

Come on Jambo, this is the world, some people are nice, some are not,as i have said elswehere before those who are not nice are really happy when they win over a nice person, they have won, they think great I am the best they cant mess with me! I for one understand that you enjoy helping people by doing things and sponsering projects, those who use the facilities and the projects that you have completed are I am sure happy. One question that I would pose to those people who may be considered as not nice is,
Have you given anything to a charity, a school,or project, and used your own money that you have worked for?
I bet you Jambo that there will be no reply to my question.I for one am very sorry that you consider leaving Bantaba,I must admit that some of the postings that have been made are really nasty and unnecessary, and I tought What? do I want to even respond to this stuff? The answer ius No but hey my opinions are not the same as those as others,I cannot be right all the time I realise that but I can decide for myself what I respond to and what I read, but Hey dont be driven out by nasty people. |

All your points are noted and most of them appear to be valid. However am surprised with your decision and hope you will reconsider it as your positive roles outwiegh the negative effects. My advice to you is learn to appreciate the different characters and different tones of languages and communication styles to be more mature and experience to handle them in the future through self-restraint when it reached a point beyond control. On that positive note I solicit your cotinuous participation and hope that you would accept this appeal.

What a disgrace as some don't raised the Gambian flag flying high and don't represent true ambassadors of Gambia and are different from you Jambo? Please continue your projects and educational programmes including this one as a participant in Bantaba to educate and enlighten others! We need you here please! |

| The worst disgrace is to reduce oneself to a disgraceful beggar. Isnt it utmost naivity to believe what anyone says without proof. The world is full of professional liars and beggars, both tendencies can be inborn. |

Bamba....can you clarify something for me...I have just read another posting where you say something is genetic, and now you say you think that lying is inborn.......and begging.....
To which genetic group do you attach these tendencies?
Some of your postings I agree with, but then you nearly always spoil them with some outrageous claim or other at the end. To start with I thought you were being ironic or sarcastic.....but now I think you are SERIOUS..........that someone can think these things in 2006 amazes and scares me. |

| People born under conditions that force them to lie and beg thru life can hardly be distinguished from being genetic. |

Hey we were just about to make a delegation to statehouse. But you see we were crawling on our stomachs. That made us slow down. Sankofa asked that we do that so that Big Buhaba can plead on our behalf. It is a sign of our times.
We know you will do that and too mature to give up. WINNERS NEVER GIVE UP NOR DO QUITTERS WIN.

| Within couple of moments have seen your aggressiveness on education and proactive discussions. Bro lets continue our join efforts to educate rather than allow the dis-orientation to dominate here. We have very intelligent Gambians to stand and raise the Gambian flag flying high. Am proud of you Kons. The struggle continues on and on! |

Listen guys, please no hard feelings. This is the bantaba and as visitors we are a virtual family and should appreciate that.
If someone posts some things one does not like please let go and do not reply to it. Reply the topics you wish to discuss further and the rest be ignored. There is a lot of great stuff coming out of this forum and should be seazed upon.
Let us exchange ideas and not unpleasant words please. |
