Dear All,
THIS IS RE-POSTED BECAUSE I AM SADDENED BY THE UGLINESS AND FAITHLESS REACTION TO EVERY NADD MISS STEP.
I am sure Junkung and his accolytes are having a laugh at our expense. Just read the frantic, self induced panic regurgitation and insults we direct now at NADD executive Ousainou Darboe based on little or flimsy evidence. The Wollof have a saying " bagga def akk mann def", which literally translates to "wanna do and can do". First Waa Juwara is quoted as saying " Darboe insists that NADD is an Alliance not a party" which is legally and technically both fact and fiction. How?
1. NADD - National Alliance for Democracy and Development is an alliance of opposition parties, UDP, PDOIS, PPP, NDAM, NRP, GPP? [Assan Camara's party] and came into being with the signing of an MOU.
2. But when it registered as a party with the IEC, Junkung, the wily hyena 'jalgatti' them [a wrestling term - when one is thrown over head] and the UDP, PDOIS and NRP seats in the second National Assembly were declared vacated and NADD stood for re-election winning 3 out of the 4 seats.
So earlier, i pointed out Darboe's strength as a Constitutionalist and weakness as a Political leader, Legalese - speaking law instead of politics, where OJ, Waa and even Hamat run circles around him. The fact is he is just being as honest as always, stating the bedrock of the NADD MANIFESTO - a five year alliance to rectify and restore democratic governance and rule of law in The Gambia. I am sure Halifa, OJ, Hamat and even Waa, will relish the day when in a free. democratic Gambia, the PPP, UDP, GPP, PDOIS, NDAM and maybe even APRC will have a free debate and democratic discourse and allow the Gambian electorate to chose the government and democratic dispensation of their choice. But, there is a time for everything. Now is the time for NADD to coalesce and defeat Junkung and the APRC monster strangling our nation.
To Waa, Darboe and NADD, I say if you cannot agree to disagree without exposing and making us a laughing matter, then you are indeed unworthy of the high hopes and expectations we have in you. WORDS OF HUMBLE ADVICE
1. WAA- the time of grandstanding and political gadflying are over for now. For too many years, I have admired you but this is the time for tact, patience and diplomacy as OJ practices with former NCP, GPP and PDOIS adversary. It goes to the heart of your own political maturity, we have no doubts of your honesty, bravery and dedication but now MATURITY is the issue.
2. DARBOE- Honourable Lawyer, this is the time for POLITICSPEAK not LEGALESE. Time for you to stop being a lawyer and act like a Politician not because you want to but because you have to, you need to on behalf of your family, UDP and all of us who continue to repose our confidence in your character.
3. To Chairman Hassan Camara, OJ, Halifa and Sedia - time for the rest of you to bring the others on line as in a democracy. Freedom without responsibility, limits and restrictions is anarchy. NADD is in danger of transforming from a democratic organization into an anarchy. Everyone must know when to speak and when to hold one's tongue. Only the designated spokesperson should speak for the organization. And it is quoted in the Hadith that the Prophet said anyone who cannot keep secrets is not a Muslim and NADD members and executives must learn this fundamental rule of any form of struggle.
4. LASTLY TO ALL GAMBIANS and SUPPORTERS OF NADD or OPPONENTS OF THE JUNKUNG/APRC MONSTROSITY - if we panic and resort to name calling at the first sign of trouble, then we are unworthy for the sacrifice of our leaders and deserve the Junkung monster. Darboe has been harassed, accused of murder, gone to court immeasurable times while we enjoy our lifes and wallow in our self pity, Waa spent months if not years in jail fighting for our collective liberties, Shygle Nyassi was tortured and nearly killed, OJ, Hamat, Halifa all continue to struggle on our behalf, and yet, at every liitle miss step we turn on them with GUSTO..SHAME ON US...SHAME ON US..I recall Jesus in the Gospel, when it was said, that on a boat in the sea of Galilee, Jesus was sleeping and there rose a storm and the disciples panicked and woke him saying "Master, save us, we are finished" and he rebuked them saying "O ye of little faith" and he commanded the storm in the name of God to abate and it did. So once more, I say, keep faith KEEP FAITH KEEP FAITH. Again, I quote the scriptures, Gospel, Injil, Good News, Glad Tidings - Jesus said to his disciples, " Dont you know that faith can move mountains". I bid you all peace and God's Blessings in the festive season of our Christian co-religionists.
