The reality of Death Penalty in Gambia, the detention of internet bloggers and journalists who actively encourage Coups conspiring to take over the Gambian State.

I suspect light blub moments are flashing intensely overloading Serious Thinkers Heads so vigorously that their brains are short circuiting with the implications of what they've been writing over the internet since 2006. The frenzied posting show signs of weariness as they contemplate the grave ramifications of their insightful actions i.e. chickens coming home to roost. Guilt tripping with feeble arguments come into play as their minds work on overdrive sapping the little substance that is left on how to rectify the situation, which they pretend to be surprised about.

It's ironic how the fox (Freedom Newspaper) raises its head clutching at straws from the barn it just raided but got cornered in, as you may or may not know Foxes are vermin by nature. They have a tendency to get out of control when they aren't regulated. Their cunning deceptive evasive manner of being far too arrogant and clever for their own good often get's them in the end fox populations are a nuisance which need to be regulated because they have the inability to regulate themselves. Why? because they don't how. All they do is cause mayhem and aren't interested in the consequences of their actions neither do they have any boundaries and scavenge around living off of easy pickings at others expense this is what they call freedom!

If you have an audience to fool then some might fall victim to their trickery, but not when the audience is aware of the consequences of their actions , what we have are the remnants of the soldiers gone AWOL stuttering and just lying, when a Gambian starts saying you know, you know, uh! uh! uh! anything that comes out after that is a Lie. stuttering, manipulative, and pathological liars ...............................................................Peace

Sister O, I refuse to believe that you are rejoicing over these people being convicted and sentence to death in the face of the most corrupted witnesses, self proclaimed drug dealers, thieves, open liars, and the most inconsitence of evidence presented in court.

"The reality of Death Penalty in Gambia, the detention of internet bloggers and journalists who actively encourage Coups conspiring to take over the Gambian State".

Is this what you wish for Gambian citizens?

This is not about LangTombong and co, this is about the precedence being set by this cruel regime and its activist judges.. this is about insighting permanent fear in the minds of Gambians. Thus the reason why the trial was an open trial covered for everyone to see... As they said this about setting an example for all to see hoping to prevent a repeat...

Am sorry, but history tells a different story that such regimes no matter what punishment they levy on citizens in the long run never succeed in preventing such crimes. Instead they plant permanent seeds of hate and revenge in citizens...

We have seen, the likes of Samuel Doe, Liberia, Joseph Momo Siera leone, Edi Amin of Uganda, Sani Abacha of Nigeria and several other leaders who killed as many opponents as they could but ended up in the same if not worst.

Let me ask you a question..

It is evident to Gambians that most of the fight in the Gambia especially in the Army is between themselves framing each other and hoping to get the blessing of the "LORD" King Jumus!!!

We know that LangTombong was there when it happened to Daba Marenah and others, we know that he was there when Landing Sanneh was accused and sentence to several years, we know that he was there when several other crimes of death were levied on Gambians...

Now it has become his turn... what in the world then do you think will prevent the next dude from being accused of the same crime by another insider or opponent, arrest him or her and put them through the same death sentence?

If it can happen to Daba Marena and others, to Landing Sanneh and others, LangTombong and to several other Gambians what would prevent it from happening to your brother, my sister, or to any other citizen?...

No one is advocating or condorning a military take over of our regime because we know almost all of them have turned out brutal and reprehensible to a nation. However, if it was ok in 1994, what made it illegal now? Those who live by the sword die by the sword!!!!

This is not about the people involved, but about the open trial of a case with ample evidence of crazy and lunatic witnesses and yet you sentence those people to death...

If this is not concerning to any Gambian no matter what side of the aile you are in, then truly we are an amazing species of creatures!!!

I still call the verdict a bluff and that the self proclaimed lord the curer of all diseases and the know all... will come around and reduce their sentence showing them that he is God and can do what he wants... we have gone this route before...

Stunning for real!!!!

You make a fool out of yourself. How could you not recognize the GPU or its legitimacy and yet you want them to act on your behalf and address some issues...

Anyway, I am not going to labor on this subject any more but just wanted to close the subject by showing how ridiculous you come across time and again on this forum... I think you should reflect on yourself and really put to good use your talents rather than act like a clueless run way chap whose privileges have been taken away from him!!! You could be worst than what we have seen in the Jammeh regime... Am glad I don't know you because it would be embarrassing to associate with you for real!!!

Its a terrible thing to waste human talents and I think you got some boy thanks to decent and honorable citizens!!!!

I will not recognize a terrorist organization Demba or Chinese Shoes. The whole Gpu organization is a waste of precious time ........................................................Peace

Dbaldeh, the accused were sentenced to death.

Why should I rejoice over their sentences are their families rejoicing? Is the nation rejoicing? Are the public rejoicing that the Death Penalty is going to be used because some people decided that they were going to kill and maim them to seize power? Are they rejoicing that Gambian blood will be spilt on Gambian soil? I don't think so, what is there to rejoice about! The Lamentation is that it had to happen at all!

What I am saying is in light of this verdict, it must be obvious to those who devote their lives to proactively encouraging violent regime change in Gambia need to heed the resounding message of this judgement because it is quite evident to say the least that freedom of expression comes with responsibility and what maybe freedom of expression to some my also be interpreted as a threat to National Security to others.

Sister O, that is what I thought... no matter what you think about the people involved there must be a part of you as a human being, a sister, a mother or daughter or someone that it is a terrible thing to see people subjected to cruel and unusual punishment...

Now, as human beings when we try to use our human conscience we will for the most part agree that no human being derseve to go through such cruelty in life...

Sister O, upon reflection of what has happened to several other people regardless of the circumstance, we will agree that our nation and certainly our people don't derserve some of the attrocities levied on them..

It is the same feeling that the parents of Ousman Koro Ceesay the then Minister of Finance who was burned to assess are feeling...

It is the same the lovely family of Deyda Hydara and several others are going through...

It is the same feeling of helpless and betrayal that the parents of the students who were massacred in broad day light that are going through...

The same reason that the parents, colleagues and siblings of Chief Ebrima Manneh are going through...

It is therefore, irresponsible for a government to create conditions that will subject citizens to such inhumane acts... it is the same kind of irresponsibility that these people convicted to death are accused of..

Sister O, those of us advocating for equal rights, freedom of expression, right to life and dignity are not calling for the overthrown of the regime...

What we are calling for is the government to create an environment where citizens will not be tempted to use violence against a regime... the same violents President Jammeh and others attempted to use to overthrow the Jawara regime..

You will agree that it was because there was almost a situation where change was impossible that led to the overthrow of Jawara and his regime... It was because he overstayed his mandate and lost control of State Machinery that led to Jammeh taking over...

Now the same situation is happening in Gambia again.. President Jammeh has shut the doors for the opportunity for citizens to make change without resorting to violence ... which is not acceptable to us as citizens..

So what we are calling for and you must agree is that create the environment for dialogue, give the people the opportunity to agree or disagree with your policies. Allow them to go to the polls free of intimidation and fear tactics to openly and freely choose their leaders...

Sister O, where all doors to peaceful change of leadership are shut citizens resort to other means which is unfortunate and uncall for..

We have seen the violence death of Guinea Bissau's leader because there was no doors open... we have seen what happens to captain Dadis of Guinea Conakry... We have seen the end results of Samuel DOE.. no one wish this for their love ones.

So why in the world would another leader or regime or its supporters support a system that prevents a peaceful means for citizens to choose their leaders?

This is the point am trying to make and trust me.. there has been over six or more coup attempts against the Jammeh regime since he came into power... common sense dictates that he looks at the reason why all these people wants to take the same route he took to power...

Open the doors and allow freedom for citizen participation in their democracy... then and only then can we be freed from a repeat of such attempts... no amount of killings will prevent this period...

I'm dumbfounded with [Peaceful] Sister Omega on her post. These death row inmates were your champions, without a shadow of a doubt, on this forum. Now this! Have you lost your soul, Sis?
I wouldn't be surprised, if one scours this site for praise singing, pertaining to these convicted inmates from Sister Omega.

Dembish there will be elections next year. The Gambian people will have the opportunity to vote for a new leadership in Gambia if that is what they want. The right to vote is their Democratic right and who they choose to vote for is between themselves and the ballot box.

Kitbul Arerr are you for real? All that sea air on that tiny rock must be dumbing your brain.

That was very bold of you to say Bev. Let me ask you a question today would there of been an African American President if Rosa Parks decided to jump up and giver her seat to a white man when there were no more seats in the white section of the bus? Hell No!

Would women in Britain have the vote is suffrogates didn't throw themselves on to the race tracks? Hell No!

Would white working class men and white women be able to vote in Britain, if Slavery hadn't been abolished in Haiti by Toussaint L'Overture? Hell No! So why the hell do you think that Gambians aren't able to mark a cross of their choice on to the ballot paper and stick it into a ballot box and vote for the Opposition if they so choose to do so? Why is it that you naturally presume that Gambians are so helpless and feeble minded that they can't decide who to vote for? Who they want to vote or not to vote at all, if they think they is no one worth voting for? After all Gambians are people and just like all people, they do have it in them to be to be great they just have to know itwithin themselves and believe it or not a lot of them just like a lot of us do. So let's stop playing the victim here shall we Guys it's pathetic!

With 'nuff respect Sista O., but this: "The Gambian people will have the opportunity to vote for a new leadership in Gambia if that is what they want." is maybe a slip of the tongue, but let's put the records straight. The right to vote is non nagotiable, but a God given right in any true democracy. Thanks G., we have the internet[s] to freely voice our opinions. When one door is closed, another is opened................................................................................................lol
