UDP-U.K Receives $1000 from Haruna Darboe
On behalf of the Chairman and the entire UDP-U.K, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Haruna Darboe of Atlanta, Georgia for a generous donation to the United Democratic Party.
One thousand Dollars is a lot of money to sacrifice. The amount is equivalent to about D27, 000 (twenty seven thousand dalasis). We thank Haruna for choosing to transmit the funds through our young organisation, UDP/UK. It will give us immense scope for aiming higher and continue the efforts of working hard towards achieving a stronger United Democratic Party and a free Gambia.
Haruna’s democratic credentials are there for all to see. His realisation that, politics equals good resourcing including funding cannot be faulted. Barack Obama’s eloquence alone did not provide him the smooth passage to the American Presidency but the cumulative contribution of the rank and files of the American population.
Haruna stated to us that because of the UDP-U.K sole donation of a tune of D100, 000 towards the just concluded UDP Congress, he was inspired and motivated to add his quota to our on going efforts. Today, we have received the funds, and the Chairman and the entire Executive Committee would like to thank Haruna for his generous contribution.
Although Haruna is not a member of the UDP, his stance towards Gambia’s democratisation always compels him to contribute regularly to Gambia’s political parties. I hope many in the Diaspora can emulate Haruna Darboe by putting their money where it matters most. It is not easy to part with hard earned money but we must realise that politics is not cheap. We are competing against a dictator who has the entire state machinery of the Gambia at his disposal and has never hesitated to use it to his advantage. It is therefore about time that we all become formidable stakeholders in the politics of our great nation and contribute money to the opposition. Whichever party you support, please donate money to them for they need it more than anything.
The opposition parties are barred from having air time on the Gambia Radio and Television services. The only way to disseminate their message is by conducting rallies and visiting Gambians across the country. This normally involves lots of money. Imagine the cost of fuel, car maintenance, food, refreshments, accommodations, emergency health issues and the high legal bills just to name a few.
Finally, we salute you Haruna for the donation. The funds will be remitted to the UDP Secretariat in Banjul very shortly. The newly elected party Secretary General, Lawyer Alh. Ousainou Darboe has been notified of your donation, and he has expressed delight and gratitude for the kind gesture and patriotism displayed. As customs dictates, we pray that, many more thousands of Dollars replace the amount you sacrificed. You have inspired a lot of people.

Mr. Party Official
The questions are:
What is the outcome of UDP Congress? Is there any political strategy, policies, political solutions? What are the issues discussed? Who are the elected party officials? Or the sole focus of this congress was fund raising? Since we can't get any info from official UDP website, maybe as an executive member of the party committee, you might inform the public. |
diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.
Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

All am trying to establish is the relationship and the strategy being utilized. Look around you bro, the culture these fools are planting in our society is unacceptable. If I run for office maybe I should have my whole village posted on the internet and spreading rumors and false lies. I did not accuse him of being a wife beater or abuser, "Akka Musso Boutaae"................................................Peacequote: Originally posted by terangba

Well I don't subscribe to the L but we are both talking about the same Individual with no mistakes or mistaken identity. What is Haruna's role at the L? Is Haruna a journalist? What was he doing associating himself with Carnegie minerals known escaped criminals/ Thieves trying to discredit the Gambia government in the process. Trust me these people all need to be locked up or identified as common wanted criminals. All you have to do is scan through his postings on the L, these fools and their counterparts are responsible for the dwindling tourism sector and lack of confidence by investors all in the name of opposition.........................................................................Peace quote: Originally posted by terangba
