Who is Missing at the World Cup in South Africa?

http://www.gainako.com/news/news/2010/06/15/who-is-missing-in-south-africa-world-cup-football.html

The answer to the above question is not far-fetched, for it is obvious that someone, some man, some true son Lucky Dube is missing. Yes, he is! The iconic Lucky was not only known for his music, but his contribution to the battle against oppression during apartheid in South Africa, which exiled him to Jamaica for the longest. And his gap today, a mysterious snatching of his soul from us by gun bandits, can only be condemned for ever. It was wrong, a crime that lives on, continually hurting our hearts.

I tell you, I had the chance of attending his perfomance at the Independence Stadium in Banjul during his visit to the Gambia. Now all these memories of him lingers. I agree entirely with the author that indeed Lucky Dube is missing. It would have been nice to see him perform at the world cup.

yj, thanks for sharing - so very very sad he did not see the day, likewise many others. We missed out because for sure Lucky would have written & released something special from the heart..

Regards to all & enjoy the footy..

I agree. I just bought some of his music from a Rasta guy at a car boot sale in England. I am playing it in school when we talk about the world cup and saying it is proper South African music.
