Magistrate Drammeh of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, for assault causing actual bodily harm recently discharged one Abdou Karim Suwareh.

The police prosecutor, ASP Sanneh applied to withdraw the case on the grounds that the accused person is not mentally well.

He went on to cite Section 68(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code, Cape 10 Volume III, Laws of The Gambia to back-up his application.

The trial magistrate granted the application and subsequently discharged the accused.
