You do not insult an officer of the court. Richard Chenge, as well as all the defense attorneys, is an officer of the court. Just like the judge, they must be treated with respect at all times during court proceedings atleast. Karamba, Gen. Tamba's frustrations are understandable. He had used his previous testimony to create a good image of himself as someone who saved Jammeh from Ndure Cham's attempted coup of 2006, perhaps in preparation for an acquittal by the court or a presidential pardon by Jammeh who naturally is vulnerable to people who pledge allegiance to him. Gen. Tamba might be aware that this part of his testimony or defense is his best bet against conviction or subsequent pardon. Reaffirming his allegiance to Jammeh and demonstrating that he has done in the past all that he could to defend the president, Sheikh Professor might turn out to be the key to his freedom. Now the prosecution, Richard Chenge, is doing his job by turning Gen. Tamba's own claims (of his role in the foiled 2006 coup)against him. Normally the March, 2006 foiled coup would not be an issue in this case since the prosecution did not make any claims or introduce any evidence linking Gen. Tamba to plotting the 2006 failed coup. General Tamba is charged with his own November 2009 plot, not Ndure Cham's 2006 plot; so it might appear surprising that the judge is entertaining the DPP's introduction of evidence to link Tamba to the foiled coup of 2006. Tamba is not standing trial for Ndure Cham's 2006 attempted coup. However, I think the fact that Tamba and his attorney raised the issue of the 2006 failed coup and General Tamba's role in foiling it, purely to boost the image of Gen. Tamba; gave the Dpp legitimacy to attack that claim and bring in evidence to support his rebuttal to the defense's claims. |

Kay,
Your clearly accurate observation on this dramatic issue is everything to agree with. Like Yaya, Lang and all others who formed the criminal regime knew they had no mandate to play lord over decent Gambians.
Let us get something clear, both Yaya and Lang Tombong are invididuals free enough to keep together as personal friends. What they each could not have and even with Thousands like them together is to be any near the size and essence of Gambian nation.
By extent of their folly Yaya together with those who seek worshipping him have swayed far enough. Lang thought by telling the world he loved captain Yaya that was enough to protect him. In the look of things, this may or may not happen.
Lang Tombong could be heard in court swearing to the demons of Kanilai thus:
"In the name of Yaya, I swear by the devils of Kanilai to speak all that sounds sweet to captain, nothing but what the demons want, so help me captain."
Later, captain may decide to let Lang off the hook.
My take is that Gambians do not have to permit Yaya to drag on any further. Yaya has nothing good to do in Gambia. His killing and stealing will not stop. He has to be confronted.
When matters get worse, Yaya is capable of sparking fire in Gambia after looting so much. His thinking is that when Gambia is set on fire, he has money and material property to enjoy all around the world.
Lang would not want to die before getting Yaya hung. Yaya too is worried that lang is already angered and the best thing is to finish him.
Even if they join back, that is no total safety for them and their lot. Gambia will never stay the same any more. |

Exactly Karamba. The idea that the best way is to "return to the one who torments you" is only entrenching impunity; and the idea of returning to the abusive Sheikh is pervasive in the Gambia now. Watchout for Jesus' testimony and closing remarks. |

Kayjatta is not an attorney and definitely not a very good teacher either. I feel sorry for your ex students though,First of all Please explain to me Mr attorney How the court was insulted or an officer of the court . Evidence based on testimonies was given ,Lang was confronted with the allegations which he called fabricated Lies. Please tell me why we should waste our precious time debating or discussing something so off topic. He never insulted "Chenge" or the court in any way . Please I know both you and your other "Nyamato" have a serious problem comprehending any process or procedure. I would like to assume your literacy level has been corrupted, quite possibly you are in need of ESL classes too.If you want to establish langs strategy might as well start a new thread, misinformation is dangerous Kayjatta....................................................Peace quote: Originally posted by kayjatta

Sorry,
Language is not just English. You are so bothered. Can't just liberate your low conscience.
Who cares if it is Japanese or Greek? You are so much stuck, deprived fellow. Any form of misconduct in a court environment is simply a contempt of court.
Of course as lame artoney in Jammeh's illegal disorder, trust yourself, I have nothing to dispute if your unlawful bearing insist there is no contempt.
Do I care? |

Mr karamba I like your analysis of the situation of Yaya and Lang.Yes Lang`s strategy of praising Jilanka in the witness box I believe is too little too late.I will not dwell further into the case hence the matter is still B4 court.Lets wait and see but with the new twist by the DPP I am pessimestic more than ever.Like Key put it, what relevance is the 2006 coup to the case at hance? Lang must be very blessed if so or the notorious NIAs are worthless not to trace langs link ever since. |

Dembish,
When a person chooses to close both eyes, it is very much likely that the mind's eye stays wide open because truth has no boundary. In the open, anyone is free to deny. But the truth is so complex for even the most concrete mind to crush.
Lang was firing insults in court. He was talking directly to the head of proscution. That is called Contempt of Court, no matter who feels dancing on hot sand.
How many times has Lang bursted with the words "that's a lie"? Who was being addressed, Bunja Darbo or Chief Prosecutor Cheng? |
