I think they will be given to the people, as school houses, nurseries, etc...

I fear you'll have reason to cry (I meant to be sarcastic in my posting), but who knows? Insight can hit even politicians like a thunderbolt...

What about the idea of making a suggestion to the Gambian government?

Something like "As a Gambian living in the Diaspora/as a frequent visitor of your wonderful country I am concerned with the big expenses made for hosting the AU summit. As this all costs Gambian taxpayers and maybe foreign governments a lot of money, I would propose that the houses built for the guests of the summit are given back to the people of Gambia after the summit. They could be of good use as school buildings, nurseries...."

Of course as a first step you/we had to ask what their plans are for the houses, and then make the proposal. No joke this time...

I did not there were AU heads and tails. You are really funny.

Taalibeh, as your name implies, u should pray to ALLAH for their forgiveness rather than their punishment (just joking). I share the same feelings with u. Whenever I see our African leaders on the TV, I switch immediately to another channel. I thank heartily those that invented TVs' remote control. I neither want to see nor hear our leaders on tv. Our African leaders are our tragedy.

A whole continent on the hands of many killers and the most irresponsible of all humans. I wonder if Halifa or Sidia Jatta will be very comfortable in the company of most African leaders. I know the feeling taalibeh.

Bamba

I cannot tell you how much disgusted I feel about this AU meeting. For how long have the AU been in existence and what have been their use to the ordinary African under whoes names they claim to be meeting. Our tax money is being spent without our authority and not for our benefit.

The burden this event is going to place on the Gambia will be felt by us for many many years to come. This is an insult to our development partners and will definitely scare them away. No one will be willing to sponsore these kinds of irrational behaviour.

Taalibeh

These villas are based on the Arab type palaces. The man thinks he is a king. Don’t be surprised if Banjul will not just become an office. He his most likely going to give it to himself and his inner circle of friends.

Beside who has the audacity to complain? You just go six feet deep. Gambia is a kingdom. I will be proven right after the November elections. It will be a one party state because the National Assembly will be dissolved effectively sealing the APRC as de facto imperialist. As for the Supreme Court, that will become an extension of the Attorney Generals Chambers.

They will be fired without any regard to constitutional arrangements because parliament will have ceased to exist. The proposed law has not said for how long the dissolution of the assembly can last. It only said that it couldn’t be done 18 months before elections.

So if Junkung dissolves the Assembly, it is for good. This is what we saw in Libya and Iraq. The man is a good friend of the Jamahiriya and read well the GREEN BOOK.
