THE UK AFRICA LEAGUE.
A new football league in Birmingham UK is scheduled to start in September 06.
The UK African League has been registered and officials are accepting applications from teams in readiness for the kick off.
The season will hopefully be preceded by a six-team tournament in July, with teams representing the Congo, Zimbabwe, GAMBIA and Burundi among those entered.
The New Communities League has attracted six teams for its first season with anticipation of more joining in the future.
Matches have been taking place with teams representing Habesha, Somali Community, Baran, FC Ghana, Sudan House & Eritean Community.
Birmingham FA anticipates that the league will grow in stature and be a model for other regions.

Hi Sab, this is very interesting. Africans in Denmark also organise tournaments in Copenhagen every year and The Gambian team won the cup on numerous times.
Here is a link to one of the articles I once wrote in our Magazine Djembe http://www.djembe.dk/no/25/12mtab.html
Keep us posted on the tournament results. |

Thanks for the link Momodou. An enjoyable read apart from Saidou. I expect The Gambian community in Birmingham already know about their brothers in Denmark. Imagine Kola Toure or Didier Drogba turning out!
I will keep an eye open for news next season.
