The death of Democracy

Dead cold war
Suicidal diplomacy
Dogmatic fundamentalism
Gone by the gun

Post Democratic Era
Unfolding by the day
Capitalist communists
Enemy’s economies

Dead distances
Transformed existence
Money flows on the second
Peoples restricted in devastation eternally

Dead Newspaper
Googled social –forums blogs
Toothless discussions
Soundless drumming

Democracy is high jacked and reduced to a mere play for the covered passage for the rich and powerful. Forget democracy as an organising principle of governance where representation is decided by the electorate in a free and fair casting of votes at a polling station in a secret ballot box, were government is for the people and by the people. We are in a post-democratic era, when elections are not a yardstick by which free and fair expression of political homestead is measured. Democracy has become a marketable commodity for highest bidder.

Clean your house before pointing a finger ... Never be moved by delirious Well-wishers in their ecstasy

Very true words. But is it apathy by the Gambian people to do anything about it?

Janko, the poem captured our fake democracy. The inability for many to see beyond certain curtains.
interesting
