Femi's case amongst other issues would not happen if N.A.D.D DIDN'T FAILED!
WHO OR WHAT MADE N.A.D.D TO COLLASPED
"The Gambia to me is far more important than any of our party or all the parties, coming together. And until and unless the opposition are aware of this and become more responsible by coming together to serve the interest of those people who look to us for salvation and upliftment, then we have failed the Gambians”, OJ asserted."
"He said they came very near to achieving their objective when they came together to establish an alliance called NADD. “NADD was an institution to which all Gambians can identify irrespective of which party, tribe, religion or ideology. NADD became a common product that can be owned by each and every Gambian. And the success of NADD can be measured when we had the six by-elections during NADD existence and we won all the four elections and APRC won very marginally, the two other seats. But unfortunately, few months before the election, two of our partners withdrew and devastated the whole opposition front, and the confidence that the people had in us”,
.....that APRC has become very unpopular, but where is the credible alternative for the people to go and show solidarity to and vote? As long as we are divided as opposition, the chance of achieving our objectives is zero! "Omar Jallow alias O.J
WARNING THAT ANYONE WHO RESIGNED FROM N.A.D.D WOULD BE COMMITTING A POLITICAL SUICIDE! ".....OJ was on BBC network Africa programme saying that anyone who resigned from NADD would be committing a political suicide. This was an apparent reference to me because I had earlier indicated to the executive of NADD that I would consider my position in NADD."
"The executive of the UDP is meeting to consider proposals submitted to it for a united opposition front and for me it will not be proper at this stage to say what such a united front should take. " Lawyer Darboe .
NO BACKWARDS STRIVING THEN TO START ANOTHER UNITED FRONT (FOR DEMOCRACY & DEVELOPMENT).
NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH N.A.D.D' FORMATION, TACTICALLY, STRATIGICALLY, PRODUCT BRAND NAME (OF NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR DEVEOPLMENT & DEMOCRACY GEARED ON A NATIONAL CAUSE) & PROPER TIMING DURING 2006 ELECTIONS
N.A.D.D IS ALWAYS RELEVANT IN GAMBIAN POLITICS FOR OPPOSITION PARTIES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ITS SETBACKS & FAILURES!

Bro Kobo
quote: Femi's case amongst other issues would not happen if N.A.D.D DIDN'T FAILED!
With all our deferring views on how best to move forward, the one thing we have in common is we want things to work and in the best interest of our dear nation. So, lets not forget in our dialogue that we want nothing less than the best and that there is no enmity but a common interest.
Yes, it is these “if we had” and “shoulds” that is delaying the way forward. Don’t you think is better to depart from what “is” and not sunken in “what should have been” if we would ever break the stagnation, the unwillingness. You keep on repeating the same things on and on which in itself could be a blockage to new ideas and forms of moving on, ways of understanding what we have here and now, don’t you think.
Time is what we do not have

Wasn't Jammeh, but Dida Halake (on his 'London Letters'). It would be nice if Jammeh replies, but hey... |

The Point newspaper Femi Peters is a hero not a criminal, says minority leader
MINORITY LEADER INSISTS THAT FEMI IS PRISONER OF CONSCIENCE.
I WONDER WHETHER HON NETTY BALDEH REFERRING TO "DEFIANCE" OR "RULE OF LAW" THAT LANDED FEMI HAVING RE-VISITED THESE QUOTES EXTRACTED FROM The Gambia journal online newspaper;
"Largely ignored by state controlled media and somewhat sidelined by the self-censorship of what is left of the private media, the United Democratic Party, UDP, decided on pressing stronger for the respect of its rights to hold mass political rallies which they had been systematically denied in between elections. In an interview he gave to the Point newspaper last year, just after the Ramadan, Mr. Peters declared that from then on the UDP will hold mass meetings with or without permits from the police who hardly acknowledge applications by them to hold meetings much less grant the permission. A police official granting such a permits risks losing his job forthwith and will be lucky if he is not arrested and detained for one or the other trumped charge."
