Bamba, sorry but that statement is really a killer. Imagine that a toubab was saying things like that but in the other way.
I certainly don't agree, there are nice blacks and nice toubabs. You have nice people in every culture; certainly you have a lot of bad people within any society. And even the characteristic as being the nicest for all the blacks is not really serious. For example the attitude of africans from West-africa and Southern Africa is very different. The same fenomenon occurs here in Europe: there is a big difference in attitude between someone of southern europe (Italy) and eastern europe (Russia, Poland).
So being nice had nothing to do with race or skin colour but is a result of the invidual character, his education and the society where he or she was raised. Greetz |

What? When did I jump on Bamba, can´t remember...? I think Bamba is the only sincere one on this forum. And so what if I make a u-turn in opinions from time to time, don´t you ever? People are allowed to change their opinion about things which is a sign of health, I´m not all that unflexible you see... I´m just being real and honest unlike many of you, not here trying to please anyone and maybe that is why I´m disturbing ya so much. Cuz truth hurts and people would rather have someone kissing their big ol´azz than telling the truth. |

I do get annoyed when people on bantaba try to put some sort of collective guilt on whites shoulders........ I wasnt born when slavery happened..how is it my fault??!
All I can do is see injustices...NOW..and not close my eyes. Try in a small way to do some small thing about it......
Bev honestly, I think you´re really just suffering from narcissism. I think you´re a big phoney who do things for your own sake to get others approval. |

Babylon, you can´t remember...a consequence of your flexibility? I by some of your arguments, some not. But also, as a non regular contributor I might not criticize someone who regulary express her opinions. Therefore: please accept my apology! You have every right to take sides and make as many u-turns you like. |

Babylon, there is racial divide here. The white lobbyist, Kiwi, is putting it strongly that u stick to them whities and not to them blackies. All is fun. |

Babylon...I dont understand why you are so critical of me? I just live a quiet life in uk and when I go to Gambia for my trips I try to do a little good. What is wrong with that?

Why, can´t stand a little critisism? I just think you´re full of yourself, that´s all. You seem to need constant attention to your persona, and I don´t think that´s very healthy. To me, you´re like a daytime talkshow. |

I don't know how to take that?!
I won't comment further Bablyon as tit for tat exchanges get very boring for other people to read. |

Twinkly, u just like my mum was, she had empathy. My mum was able to share the feelings of the less fortunate and the down trodden. My dad was a groundnut trader for the united African company (UAC) in his days. Mum was always helping the wives and kids of dad’s groundnut farmers.
The exchanges going on in Bantaba are very cordial. Bantaba is superb. The exchanges in Bantaba are teaching lessons, particularly to us blacks. Heated exchanges can come and go yet the cyber friendships stay. In Gambia, as u can see, one doesn’t say no to authorities, it can get one chopped and buried in latrines.
The summer is creeping in here, with it comes pollination. I am pollen-allergic and suffer a lot from it the first weeks of summer. Allergy is not a disease but a reaction of the body. Luckily it lasts just few weeks of the summer. There are no doctors prescribed medications other than those one can buy from pharmacies. Apart from frequently running nose, sneezing and itching red eyes, I suffer from general fatigue and listlessness. Am even lazy these days to reply to interesting postings, but I’ll do my best.
Bantaba is a cordial forum and the cordiality will persist.No-one should be advised to leave, we are all learning from it.
