JUST Amir (Dedicated to Umar Radiyallahu Anhu)

Umar (R.A):

"I am a just Amir over all my people,
I have fear of Allah, The Most High, The Supreme.
Thus there is a Fire, people will be its fuel,
And stones likewise. Its heat shall be to the Extreme.
Sometimes I say 'I wish I were a straw like this',
'I wish my Mother had not given birth to me.'
I seek not damnation, I seek eternal bliss,
But what answer do I have to give before Thee?
You have elevated me, O Allah!, but I were low
And wandering astray, but O Allah! You have
Guided me. I was base, but Allah has ennobled
Me and gave me sovereignty over His people.
If neglectful I be, to myself I say Woe!
I am the divider. Nay shall I choose the halve
That is bigger; thus my heart would then be troubled.
No action shall I take if, of it, I scruple.
None shall carry my load on the day of judgment
For I am who shall be questioned about these men."

how long
can i lament
with this depressed
heart and soul

how long
can i remain
a sad autumn
ever since my grief
has shed my leaves

the entire space
of my soul
is burning in agony

how long can i
hide the flames
wanting to rise
out of this fire

how long can one suffer
the pain of hatred
of another human
a friend behaving like an enemy

with a broken heart
how much more
can i take the message
from body to soul

i believe in love
i swear by love
believe me my love

how long
like a prisoner of grief
can i beg for mercy

you know i'm not
a piece of rock or steel
but hearing my story
even water will become
as tense as a stone

if i can only recount
the story of my life
right out of my body
flames will grow

Come, come, whoever you are.

Wonderer, worshipper, lover of leaving.

It doesn't matter.

Ours is not a caravan of despair.

Come, even if you have broken your vow

a thousand times

Come, yet again, come, come.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

These words were communicated to Fira'un

It'll be said...

"You heard but didn’t obey,
Thus on this day shall you pay

You rebelled against us,
As you thought that the worldly life would forever last

Verily the hereafter is the Promised Truth
And this very day is but absolute proof

Today, to whom shall ye turn?
As you’ll be dragged to the Fire that’ll surely burn

Every part of your body; which we’ll certainly renew
Far too late is for thee to proclaim ‘O if I knew’

Did we indeed send and made clear our message,
But never did you bother to read a single passage

You chose to chase after worldly pleasures,
Woe to thee! Ye certainly forgot of the heavenly treasures

To you, of these, shall be no share
For when ye were told to earn it, ye didn’t care

The daily prayers, you neglected
The poor and needy you rejected

Our Reminder, the Qur’an, you never read
Tears, out of fear and gratitude, you never shed

You were persistently unmindful of death
As you consistently indulged in luxury and wealth

Evil thoughts continuously filled your brain
From the prohibitions we ordered, you didn’t abstain

Our Messenger and Message did you belie
As you proudly showed to our signs a blind eye

For worldly gain, with our servants did you pretend
While secretly our open enemies did you befriend

Of this dreadful day you showed no fears
Thus today, to no benefit will be your cries and tears

For the price of the hereafter, the world did you choose to acquire
So on this day, taste ye the severe punishments of the blazing fire."

O MEN & WOMEN, TAKE YE HEED BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

Hurmuzan, a former Persian leader who later on embraced Islam found Umar (RA) sleeping peacefully in the Masjid without any guards said the following memorable words "You ruled by Justice...and now you can sleep peacefully anywhere."

"...Verily, in the remembrance of Allâh do hearts find rest..." Sura Al-Rad (Chapter 13, Verse 28)

...Gambian by birth, Muslim by the grace of Allah...

Subhanallah! Umar (RA) cared greatly for the people of his time. Every evening, he would find time by going around town looking for those in need of any assistance, be it food to feed their families, medical or financial aid. May Allah's endless blessings be upon him and all of the companions of our noble prophet (SAW) who helped in shaping and spreading the message to every corner of the earth. Jazzakum Allahu Khairan.
