My daughter has an opportunity through Leeds Met university to do some volunteer work at Kartong. It is something to do with renewable energy and involves staying at an eco place. It is for 3 weeks and she has to raise £1000 to cover the costs. Do you think this is a worthwhile trip? Does anyone know anything about it? Its to do with wind energy I think.

That is one of my favorite spot. Is that her first trip to Africa? If it is, the cultural experience itself is worthwhile.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

She has been to Gambia once before. She visited Tendaba and Kolior. She took lots of photos and has done some beautiful art work back at home using this as the starting point.

She has applied and been accepted for an interview. Only 15 pupils can go. I really hope she gets a place!
