A very big cleanup is necessary, maybe the Electric broom has recharged batteries and can work wonders
http://thepoint.gm/africa/gambia/article/two-more-judicial-officials-charged
Again a sad and distressing story of the all too prevelent problem in Gambian everyday life, read the full sorry story:

Meanwhile, Alhagie ML Sonko was granted a court bail in the sum of D2M (two millions Dalasi) with two Gambian sureties, all of whom must have a landed property within the Greater Banjul Area. He was also ordered to deposit his travelling documents with the court.
While Pa Modou Njie was also granted a court bail in the sum of D200, 000 (two hundred thousand Dalasi) with two Gambian Sureties, all of them must have a landed property within the Greater Banjul Area. He was also ordered to deposit his travelling documents with the court.

| Have you run out of comments Toubab? I am just wondering if the Gambia government have ever heard of auditing and auditors. Regular auditing and an enhancement of internal auditing systems in government departments will go a long way to address this web of corruption. What a bunch of clueless imbeciles at the helm of government. |

Not at all Shaka but everyone else except you appear to have, I should have thought that this would be almost earth shattering news that court officers have been put on trial for stealing.

| I can't wait for these trials. Meanwhile I anticipate a "not guilty verdict" in the case of both judges... |

Apart from the quality of the defense (legal representation by the best lawyers) they-the two judges- will have; there will also be jurisdictional/separation of powers issues, and the fact that these are judges. Unless they are stupid, they should be able to have covered their tracks adequately... But of course, all these depend on the assumption that there will be a fair trial. |
