the beautiful country of the gambia need a female to change to country for better as they are running the country and have always been. if any of us gambian can remember that if you ask your dad anything most of the time they always tell you to go and see your MUM as many gambian men dont work so they hardly give anything to their wife and still expect to eat and the family too. jawara and jammeh are all failed gambian so lets try MAMA AFRICA,as we all know is a lady that change united kingdom

I hope she will not be like FJC. She has smeared any possibility of a woman president in the Gambia. I had earlier on posted this topic.

It does not matter if the president is male or female. What we need is a society where responsibility is given to those most able to carry it. Our female VP is like a goat on a post, begging Jammeh for approval. She is a part of the proble. My point is that is that while a female president is a nice thought, the allocation of state responsibility should never be based on race, ethnicity, or gender.Any time such moves are encouraged, they open up new paths for the wrong people.

I cannot agree more. You have hit the nail with few words. Keep it up bro.

There is nothing that can equal a conscious people. Thanks for the comment.

Besides those you mentioned, we have witnessed the deeds of Margaret Thatcher - Britain, Goldermir - Isreal, Indira Ghanda - India, Benasir Bhuto - Pakistan, he monkey in the Philipines, Condi Rice the APE in the US among other fascists.

What we need is a conscious representative (not based on any bias notion) of the people's aspirations (not a ruler) and a free people who are masters of their own destiny.

Are you therefore saying that she is helpless and therfore cannot do anything. She definitely has the option to resign. Being helpless does not make her any better. Supporting a regime that has sacrificed human rights makes her a culprit too. She is aiding and abeiting the problems in the gambia which according to our laws is a good reason to prosecute. She is therefore not a good candidate for the highest office in the land.

Having a female President definitely sounds appealing to our problems. There should absolutely be no form of discrimination when it comes to leadership. Leadership always fits best those humble people who use their brains to relate to other humans.

Women certainly have a bigger stake in society that differentiates them from men like us. That motherly touch and feeling will certainly help address some of the basic problems we have. However, we must combine our brains together regardless of gender bias to address our own problems.

The problem I belief is not a gender issue, but ignorance, arrogance and lack of knowledge. What you see is what you get from a President who has no sense of direction. One can only conduct themselves in a manner in which they see their role in society.

Heading a country is not something anybody can do. One has to be humanly concious and informed. Jammeh unfornately for us, found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. God have mercy.
Peace

Baldeh,
