JAMMEH IS JUST DOING WHAT THE MASTER(JAWARA) WAS DOING.DIDN'T JAWARA COME UP WITH THE SINGAPORE AND JAMMEH ,HE CAME UP WITH VISION 2020 WHICH HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IT REALLY ENTAILS.

No. Sister

There were oil explorations by the Chinese and the canadians. The studies were inconclusive then based on ineconomic quantities to warrant drilling. Then again offshore was tried and some hopes were raised that we might have some. The problem was that it was around the border with Senegal. A political quagmire then ensued as a result of the posible confrontation that oil is known for. There is hardly anywhere in the world where you will not find oil of some nature. Oil is developed from fossil. A lot of the time it is so small merely trying to mobilise resources will drain the expected revemue generated.

The idea had been floating for sometime and i heard rumours of some sticky black substance around the Kanifing estate and on the grounds of Banjul Brewewries when they were digging foundations. It has not taken any serious political thought as Jammmeh has now. There is oil in the gambia but i am not sure if it is worth drilling. The last time the Canadians and the Chinese conducted siesmic surveys was some 50 years ago

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

SSS,
I BEG TO DIFFER HIS VISION MAY NOT BE MUCH BUT HE HAS SOME. THE GAMBIA UNIVERSITY IS ONE. PEOPLE LIKE ME WOULD BE HAVING BEEN SLAVING HERE TO GET DEGREES BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN PHd ON HOME SOIL IF JAWARA HAD A VISION. JAMMEH IS 'O'LEVEL NOT EVEN A LEVEL MUCH MORE A GRADUATE BUT ATLEAST HE BROUGHT THE GAMBIA A UNIVERSITY THATS NO MEAN ACHIEVEMENT. LETS BE HONEST FOR ONCE!

A leader must have a vision with the people that you represent in the forefront of your mind and it's important to listen to what the ordinary man, woman and child needs. From this a leader can build on a vision and put that into reality. A leader also needs co-operation from the people he or she appoints, if they are only in their jobs for their own ego's and easy pickings they hinder the realisation of the vision.

There is no perfect Human being on the face of the earth but one can see that the Gambia is very different place from the Gambia a decade ago. Everything changes and nothing stays the same and who really knows what tomorrow may bring. Yet we still plan for a future which is not set in stone. Just like we all plans things they can or will change that's why it's important to be able to be flexible and adaptable to the wild card that is often played in life.

On that note sss what is your vision for 2020?

Peace

Had my reservations and question about the oil when wrapping up my comments in topic "Jammeh's speech" before this is exposed.
