I think river transport is very nice, but some of the problems can be a headache.
I once joined the ferry from Barra to Banjul, and just somewhere mid way the Atlantic waters, the strong sea waves wanted to take over the steering wheels of the ferry from the captain by swaying the ferry in all directions...on that day, I heard the best glorifications to God..amin, God's most beautiful names in all languages. At long last, the sea waves were defeated. We were able to make it safe. What a scary moment it was!

It must be a hassle for the people of Sandou and Wuli to travel these days because the north bank road from Laminkoto to Passamas is as well in a very bad condition..... I travelled from Lamin Koto to Bansang on that road some months ago and it is exactly as stated in the article below.
-------------
Laminkoto Passamas road In Deplorable state By Kebba Yusupha Drammeh
In an interview with this reporter, the former NADD sponsored candidate for Wuli East Suwaibou Touray has lamented the state of the (Wuli) Passmas-Laminkoto road network that goes down to Sutukoba and beyond, saying that it is in a deplorable condition.
According to him, the road from Laminkoto to Passamas is in a deplorable condition. He explained that when vehicles arrive at Laminkoto and found the ferry in problems, drivers comuted between Laminkoto to Bansang, instead of heading towards Sami Pachonki through Sandu because of the bad road condition.
He further explained that from Sandu all the way to Wuli West, there are mighty pot-holes which continue to destroy many vehicles. From Wuli West, all the way to Sutukoba and Passamas is in a very bad state, he explained, adding that it is so bad that only few vehicles could ply the route.
Moreover, he said at this moment trucks and other bigger vehicles could not ply the route simply because truck drivers do go all the way to Chamoi in Wuli West and turn to take the Barrrow Kunda-Macca Masireh feeder road, and turn again to go to Sutukoba.
Touray stressed that if they have to go to Passamas, they would turn at Sutukoba and take the main road again to Foday Kunda.
At Foday Kunda, he said the road passes on a hill which many vehicles could not climb. There are occasions when passengers would disembark for vehicles to be able to climb.
He also described the feeder road between Macca masireh and Mudu Jawo Kunda as impassable, especially for bigger vehicles like trucks that have to turn at Chamois because the road after Chamoi to Baja Kunda and Sutukoba is in another mess.
