Has anyone heard about the new Gambian govt.changes to selling land. My Gambian friends tell me that in 2009 the Govt. changed the way that they 'tax' land owners who wish to sell land. Gone is the 15% capital gains tax on the price a piece of land is sold for due to many people complaining that this system was unfair and this has now been replaced with tariffs based on the size of the land to be sold. However I do not know and no-one can tell me what these rates are.It would seem unlikely that the Govt. is going to lose out financially on any changes it makes as far as I can see. Does anyone have any up to date info.on this. I would be grateful to hear about it.
Well Eve it appears that no one knows anything about seeing the 1st posting was in September, this maybe its wishfull thinking,if there had been any change you can be sure that someone here would have known about it,it is slightly political anyway !
