What is the meaning of KANDAA in Mandingka?

Clean your house before pointing a finger ... Never be moved by delirious Well-wishers in their ecstasy

Janko, I remember seeing a definition of Kandaa some years ago on the old Bantaba. I did a search in the archives and found this posting back in April 2005 Kanlandio la jabiro:
----Quote-------------
Dictator = Kandaa/sosobaloo
(maralilajao) Dictatoship/Dictatorial = Kandaya (Kari y'a fang ke kandaa/sosobaloo le ti, A la kandaya warata molu kan ne sain!)
---------Unquote----------

Here is a poem "Kandaa" by Kaaniba Posted - 15 May 2008: http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6096

Janko, in addition to what Momodou stated;

Kandaa, could be "maabaloo"/untouchable (hero) which is a myth created by society to convince a society that a certain individual is feared. Normally kandaas are backed with their family lineage, protecting charms, their heroism (bravity), etc...It could be in a positive usage (Kari muh kandaa lehti as in hero) and as well...negatively used with some arrogance, (Kari yaa feng keh kandaa lehti, as in arrogance.)

Kandah came from the root word kanwu a voice. dah is the emphasise of someone who has authority.

a kandah when he speaks, no one else say another word. his words are final. the similtude is kan baah noo.
