http://observer.gm/africa/gambia/article/mariam-muhammed-jammeh-fans-club-launched
This is shocking! The Gambia's "Social Security..." (SSHFC), a public corporation dishing out our money-the people's money- to the President's children's (Marriam and Muhammed)Fans club. What is going on here Gambia?
And Fatoumatta Jahumpa Ceesay, the immortal FJC is back, looking for a job. This shamelss creatures really never die, they will always resurface after humiliation to be recycled again... Remember the former police officer, the defense witness in the Musa Suso trial who told the other police officer "I could always bounce back as your boss..."; really laughable but it is the true picture in the Gambia...

Kay, I read what you say, not being privey to where the money came from,it could have been a collection from the staff or a personal donation from one of the bosses, that is not clear from the D.O.s take on the subject, the last lines of the D.O. report stated:
"She also gave the fans club D5,000 in the name of SSHFC. Madam Fatoumata Jahumpa Ceesay gave D2,000 to the fans club as a token of appreciation for their solidary and loyalty to the APRC party."
Those words could have many meanings that would be open to different interpretations. ( )
As a person (although not a lawyer yourself )but as someone who is VERY interested in the law and the attendant technical aspects that come attached to it would understand.

It may as well be SSHFC's money... it could be part of their "corporate social responsibility." |

Yes, Toubab lawyers and judges like to say that when the language is ambiguous we use the ordinary meaning of it. Since the D.O. or the presenter of the check could have said that the money was donated on behalf of the 'employees of the SSHHFC' instead of the 'SSHFC itself', the ordinary meaning would indicate that the money was from the coffers of the SSHFC instead of employee contributions... In either case, it appears that such donations by public corporations or their employees to the ventures of the president's family is inappropriate... Such donations should be purely private undertakings, not associated with public funds or institutions that manage public funds... |

It may well be, I am just discussing what was presented by Kay as fact, pointing out that what was written in the D.O. could be taken in different ways, nothing more. |
