Study Links Exposure to Pollution with Lower IQ

Who is smarter, the villageboy or the cityboy
Now there is an answer and the villageboy is the winner, thanks to the clean air in his environment.
American researchers at Columbia Centre for Children’s Environmental Health compared IQ amongst children with different intake of car exhaust gas.
“The current Pediatrics study, however, is the first to link exposure to reduced performance on IQ tests. Kids in the low-exposure group scored a mean IQ of 101.6, while the mean score in the high-exposure group was 96.5.
The good news, Perera says, is that we know how to reduce these dangerous emissions. "Efforts to reduce diesel truck idling and require cleaner fuels have been effective in reducing pollution," she says. Her own group has seen a modest decline in PAH levels as a result of such policies. "This study shows more needs to be done. We want healthy children, children who can reach their potential."

I still use kerosene lamp and boot my PC, charge my mobile with car batteries.
Oh, the two cows are fatter, the carriage bigger and the wheels are now four and much smaller.
Yes, I remember those good old days when P S Njie use to tell the audience in my village to be silence for a moment he was going to talk to the Queen of England, when he wants to listen to BBC news at one o’clock. And can you imagine this would be in the height of the campaign.
