| Snuggles. This topic started off on railways from a published article in the D.O. which appears to have been not a specific item,it then moved on to associated means of " mass transit systems" trams etc.and then on to the quality of roads and how these could be improved or should be improved. You found an item that would be a cost saving method of utilising existing dirt roads by basically a gluing application to the surface, the result of all this appears to be that the "Gluing" idea has been tried in small scale operations in various countries and is under evaluation only by Australia. There is no information as to the cost of the "mixture" that would have to be applied or the machinary necessary to apply it.Is this a practical way to seal dirt roads, maybe, is it widely used, no, why? ,only a small number of reserchers are interested in delevoping this method, and it is too early to say if it is cost effective, the Australians to give them their due are monitoring the effectiveness of the method and their findings will not be avaiable for some time.It appears to me that this is at the moment a non starter, forgetting the mess the world is in at the moment and the decrease in USABLE aid that will be coming to Africa in the future.Apart from this the topic has generated very little interest on Bantaba in Cyberspace, everyone appears to have left this discussion group,The two major topics are not being exploited anymore, even poetry has tailed off there was some good stuff posted that has dried up. So wait and see what happens next. |
