This is my point pipeline. The guy is not intelligent enought to understand all these evil tricks. It is, as you rightly said, the so-called interlects such as Tijan Hydara who are putting us in this evil situation.

Pipeline you have hit the nail on the head! With this Act, Jammeh has by default ushered in a 1 party state. Imagine everything that the NA is supposed to do handed over the president's office. No debate, no Public info on treaties, loans, etc...No budget speech. in effect also the downside for Jammeh and Gambians is that the IMF and the WB will not under any circumstances lend Gambia money again. They have tightened the screws anyway, but the nation will just grind to a halt. We will, w/out the NA, be another Somalia....watch this space people.

There is no question about that. I hate violence but the road yaya is embarking into will inevitably lead ot disaster. When disaster arrives every body suffers.

judging by the Farafenni incident, the soldiers will dessert him and will even fight against him. This is a very dangerous man within our mist.

Every Gambia is better without jammeh, he is our greatest enemy.

The NAMs who are aiding him into this venture should realise that they are trading their nation for the unknown and history will judge them, and for the adverse.

taalibeh, I agree! Again, the nation is just watching itself implode! And when things go wrong, which they will, Gambians will ‘pretend’ that we never knew what Yahya was doing! . Something must give! Honestly things will come to a head. It cannot carry on like this. It is against human nature for people to remain in bondage for ever, especially now-a-days, with the world becoming a global village. The harder Jammeh pushes Gambians, the harder he shall also fall. And on that all the facts MUST be put out so that Gambians and our beloved nation will NEVER fall prey to such evil again. History has taught us that in a battle between good and evil, Good has always prevailed.

I also read this with shock. It pains me tremendously when I hear about foul play that results to death. We expect democracy in our country where every one has and entitled to an opinion therefore support whoever they deemed fit. But supporting jammeh at this precarious situation equals to extremism in my opinion.

There are too many sad families in the country at the moment inflicted by our own sons. If the story is to go by that he (Ebrima) refused to take part in the execution of Daba Marenah then I will count him as a mytre.

Our brothers and sisters in the security services especially the army should now wake up to the realities on the ground and start defending the people and not only contribute in keeping this monster in office. They should comprehend that their future is far far brighter without jammeh in office.

When shall we understand that a life should not be disrespected at all but glorified and protected. Too much grief, despair, confusion , hopelessness amongst a lot of people. Well, we have an opportunity in October to show our hatred of jammeh. I hope he never survives come October.

The one party country is nothing new. Baba Jobe and Yankuba started the move some years back and yanks even questioned the need for it.He thinks it only distracts them from developing the country. You are right. Junkung is using some people to draft these laws for him. Fafa Mbaye did the same for him. All the decrees were drafted by him afetre the coup. Howver, he did not last and became a victim himself. Chayassin Secka also did draft those laws too especially after April 10 and 11 for amnesty to perpetrators. Where is he now. I heard he is also out.

Gradually Haidara will dance to his tunes. This is a law of nature. What goes around comes around. There is a mandinka saying that if you try to hurt your enemy, be careful that you do no plan extremely because you might fall in the pitch or a family memeber will and will need help.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

Junkung is gonna be a victim of his own ego, and understandably so. If one is not prepared for such a responsibility, one messes up upon assumption. Such examples in history are uncountable. It's getting to a point where his own life will be at stake. He may tragically finish earlier than usual.

obi1, i read on the freedomnewspaper.com web page that the reason that Mr Mareneh and the others were arrested was due to the fact they would not arrest Mr Sainghatey, the rumour was they refused to throw him out of his house until certain facts could be proven. This hesitation was the reason they were arrested.
I do not believe they are dead but are hiding. If there had been an incident on the roadside while they were being transported the car would have been wrecked.
they disobeyed Yaya, but he would not arrest them in Gambia, it was done while they were on the plane!!.
read it that what you will

We have discussed here not long ago about Africa's problems, whether it is a genetic problem or what. It really eludes me why we africans help our wicked rulers to further destroy our continent. It really defies belief.

In this modern times, where if you look around, you see how your neighbours are scrambling for success and building kingdoms of pleasure for every one to enjoy life and live happly; we are persistantly stagnated in bloody situation of maiming and destroying each others lives. I cannot understand. let them squander all the wealth but please spare peoples' lives. This is precious for God sake.

Pre 1994 you hear about murder only on the international news bulletine never at a local level. We should not have encouraged it in the first place. Heartless!!

Gambia is a de facto one party state. Junkung is king and he wants to be hailed. SO SHALL IT BE WRITTEN, SO SHALL IT BE DONE is a scenario we have to brace ourselves for very soon. The era of Uthman Dan Fodio is nearer every day. The man still lives in the past and Danfodio is his role model. We will inherit the Sokoto Caliphate soon.

If you cannot speak Hausa better start learning now.

I also think it was part of a bigger picture, but I am not sure if Jammeh alone is the artist.
