I thought that this was a bit strong,But there again I only know what the Point reported,I suspect that there must be more to it than the pulling of a head tie and taking hold by the scruff of the neck.

Following her plea of guilty to the offence of common assault, one Fatou Touray of Brikama, was recently convicted and sentenced by Magistrate Kayode of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court to a fine of D4000 in default to serve one week imprisonment.
According to the particulars of the offence on 25th May 2009, at Brikama town, the accused Fatou Touray willfully and unlawfully assaulted one Ma-Nyima Ceesay of Brikama by removing her headtie and gripping her by the scruff of the neck.
In her mitigation the convict, Fatou Touray, begged the court to temper justice with mercy as she is a student.
Magistrate Kayode in passing sentence advised the convict to respect elders as the complainant could be her mother.
