What am I missing in the most recent story of Somalian Pirates? I just cannot understand how "pirates" in speedboats can board big Freighters in open waters. How is that possible? The freighters should be big enough to just run over the speed boat or create enough turbulence in the surrounding waters to inhibit any small vessel approach. So ...... what am i missing

You are missing the fact that these "bad men" (I won't swear here) are fully equipped with rocket launchers and all sorts of sophisticated weapons and fast boats that they have bought with ransom money paid by those whose ships they have taken, after all what ship owner wants to see his ship and cargo worth many millions of $S go to the bottom of the sea,as usual its about money. |

Jammin, these people are well armed, and though I, like many others, feel some romantic sympathy for pirates (oh, Johnny Depp! ) I am aware that these men are dangerous.
But if Hillary Clinton says that it is necesssary to fight the roots of piracy, she should not forget one of the roots - the war in Somalia. And that the US are standing behind this war. The Bush regime urged Ethiopia to invade Somalia 2006 after alleged or real 'Islamistic' forces had made a fragile peace in the country. Somalia is exhausted by a long (civil) war, and the USA is jointly responsible for this situation.
I hope Clinton meant to change these politics. |

Well, they have now killed the pirates. I doubt anyone will contest the reports surrounding the operation that lead to the deaths of these Africans.

Bravo to the Americans! Unlike Saudi Arabia (and many other nations) that have paid millions in ransom money to the pirates, the Americans have beaten the pirates in a spectacular fashion that combines power, expertise and determination. I guess the "yankees" always prevail ... |

yeah right! I guess they have not learnt the lesson, because they went ahead and captured another American vessel.
An aside: I deliberately put some word(red)in my previous post for you to translate, but so far you have ignored them. |

Piracy cannot be condoned, even if they looked like Johnny Depp!
The people sailing the waters are just doing a job, trying to earn their living. They should be safe to do it. |

These words in red are from a song of long time ago. Was it not the Super Eagles. A surviving memeber replays the song on GRTS dressed in Khaki shorts and a straw hat typcal of the colonial era. The guy's last name is Njie. |

Yankees believe that 'the power' is the base of justice, not 'the righteousness'. That is the problem of all the superpower. That is why no superpower is external. Roman, mongolian, ottoman, british, eventually, american empire will end. Their solution is usually "John Wayne" approach and prejudicial punishment, I am sure you agree too, which is barbaric. Obviously, civilized world does not work like this.
Somalia has no effective government; both Ethiopia pushed by US and US had a lot to do with its instability in the name of war on terrorism.
Can't you see how your idols' !diotic policies are being ineffective. They tried to fight against terrorism in Somalia, then this created another problem. Piracy.
The more effective solution to solve the problem is to establish the stability in Somalia one more time. Failed state in Somalia must be restored in order to combat with piracy.
Fortunately, there friends of Somalians are helping Somalia to get rid of pirates.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |
