THE KILLER SUNSET

Look to the skies and the setting sun
Floating through the high hills in the sky
As it sets in a kaleidoscopic radiance
Reddish hues mixed with others
Giving a beatific evening show
Heralding the advent of death
A day is gone
With it are the deeds of that day
All but the records remain
That is for the wise to know
The foolish though care nothing
For the passage of time

The killer sunset though
Witnessed many deaths
Some of the innocent ones
And those of tyrants too
Equalizing all in the end
For therein lies the ultimate truth
Came all men poor
Into this illusive world
Who all shall leave it as paupers
Taking nothing into the shallow graves
But the records of their deeds
For which they shall give account
As promised by scripture

Weary souls sleep through the ensuing night
None knowing they shall awake tomorrow
A promise made to no one at all
In it we dream good or bad dreams
Waking up surprised to see
The rising sun
With it is hope born again
The wise spend borrowed time
Doing good deeds
Others though tarry the while doing all that is evil
Witnessed by the passage of time

Death comes when it will
For some it does in full day light
For others it comes at night
When it does come
There is no escape
The call must be answered
Without any excuse at all
Surely we who live
Know we shall surely die
So should try to make good use
Of the time we have
Not knowing when it ends
The killer sunset is ahead
It is surely a destination no one can miss
But then you can hear
Talk of others who tell us
That this life is not for real
So we are living a dream of sorts
What ever their reasoning
For me it is a trust in a God
Who created me and who shall make me die
Who eventual shall raise me up again
To whom I shall recount my deeds
Good or bad
Before I gain rewards of those deeds
Thus I pray that The Lord have mercy
On us poor souls on that sure date

Ahh wai, none reads the "killer Sunset" to the end with full comprehension without dripping a bucket of tears, as you imaginarily visualize the temporal world. Like the Quran said "kulli nafsin, eza ekatul mawt," i.e. "every soul shall test of death." The Killer Sunset, an emotional yet beautiful poem teaches a lot.

In it, teaches a message that living in this world is temporal. In real life, every day the sun sets and rises. So humans too live to certain ages, even pharoah of Egypt with his attributed powers is gone down history ages ago. Who else is the question?

Further the Quran said

quote:
"Faa man yamal miskala jarratin, khairan yarah
waa man yamal miskala jarratin, saran yaram."

To be continued...

"There is no god but Allah (SWT); and Muhammad (SAW)is His last messenger." shahadah. Fear & Worship Allah (SWT) Alone! (:

So, here we are friend in this mighty narative poem poem. In description, I would like to title it "Start to finish" or the alpha and omega, like the great educationist and poet, I. Jagne (former Principal of GHS) would like to resemble it in language…not necessarily meaning God but its organized naration and the message it is carrying. The poetic bashing is resembling the structure of the holy Quran. Let us asume that the sun that sets and rises is the witness over happenings, witnessing the many happenings ---the many phases, from birth till death of all humans. Others with hope, described as the wise utilize their stay in this world by doing good. Others belonging to the wicked, crowned in shirts of darkness continually do evil until invitable death traps them in it. Others don't believe in any of the two. The poem clearly attest that there is a supreme Judge, God. Further there is day of judgment.

In the end, the author returned glory to Almighty God, resembling surah Yasin/chapter 36. I think that the other of its similitude, was written by Mansa. Of course, the best poetry is found in the Quran, and there is no other that match the words of God. With this poem, I ask for its blessings on all humanity; that we all receive true guidance.

Hey friend, injey bo'ot foni...hula keh badjie-basseh, e'meetei pana senir barkei kamogggg….ejajakal lah khairan. Sukuran laka!

Review part 3 will follow soon…inshallahu.
