The Narrow Road The narrow road, the narrow road Walk it with consent Walk it with love and joy Walk it with permission Walk it in Godly sanctioning The narrow road A blessed road A simple road Manifested from the beginning of man Respect it Violate it not, don’t criminalise it either The narrow road Sweetness prevails The after taste a rubber stamp Tranquility Affirmative memory din don don Unforgettable Dalandin punsandima (sweet diving pond) Swim, swim In the manners recommended by the lord most high Salam it is part of The narrow road, the narrow road The elderly noddings Sinma kudey, not Nghaba kudeh By Sountou Touray

I like this poem. But i am more fascinated by the line highlighted above. Thetre is a mandinka saying:
NGHABA KUDEH, NII MANG TO TUJEH, IKOMA SI KUMA Like the Akus in Banjul would say: "wat nadeh fo your mouth no deh pass you"

The problems of the world can be summarised as NGHABA KUDEH. What is not within your realms, dont try to grab it. Seperation of powers in Government helps solve many troubles around the world.
Thanks Santa for a good poem.
I just dont know how to write one but i will soon be making attempts. Dont just laugh at my poems |

Very well kondo. I am pretty sure your poems shall fair well. Considering the fact you an Amertage ex-fellow, all shall be well. for me, i don't follow any rules, i just write what comes to mind. Aisha saidy, Mowdo Dalton, Kaani and Kay are pretty good poets. i was recently told by a British lady that, Africans tend to be good poets, she commented that it may be as a result of different experiences. i believe so. i just wrote a protest poem today. so mine are more about what i experience and by puting myself in others predicaments. go on Alkali Kondo, Yorobawol will be proud. A peom for kondo The open shade siting by whilst the pretty things pass Nurse! Nurse! the caller calls how beautiful I am the Alkalo here Anything is on offer Anything!! My name is Kondorongbaa but just call me Kondo Peace |
