Zanka is the player between nr. 13 and 11 in the picture
FC Copenhagen's 18-year-old central defender Mathias “Zanka” Jørgensen has been chosen to Talent of the year 2008.
It's the Danish football players at home and abroad who have elected the Champions League player.
Matias is the son of the deceased Gambian Jainum Jatta.
Mathias “Zanka” Jørgensen was picked up for FCK from B93 in the summer of 2007, and already as 17-year old he managed to get 12 Champions League matches in the legs and in the present season he has started inside nine out of 11 Champions League-matches.
His coach in FCK, Staale Solbakken, thinks, it's realistic that “Zanka” can get début on the Danish A-national team before the World Championship final round in South Africa 2010.
The Danish football association has distributed the price since 1999.
