Hi there! Hope you´re all doing fine in this great time of ramadan! I finally move to the Gambia in January and i´m seeking all sorts of information! One Info that I can´t just get is the prices of taking itmes out at the Port!
How much (estimately) will it be to take a 20 ft Container and 2 vans (MB100) out at the Port?
I would be very glad if you could help me!
Thank you!
Greetings Yvonne

hi there, have patien ce not everyone is logged in on this day , what can take time is the day of the week, friday is half day working. I would say two to three days from container is unloaded at port. who is your agent, once they unloaded into their storage areas thenyour part comes into play. My ship for example arrives on monday, I normally allow till thursday for everything to be unloaded and put into the agents hanger. The vans might take longer because of the paper work, I will try to find out how much it costs, are they full of goods, ectrical items etc that could take one exercise agent government official a day to do the paperwork every item is listed. It is labour intensive, there are people local that can help. let me know if you need more indepth facts and figures. remember the customs office is now computerised and is a ten drive from the port. TIME AND MONEY MANAGEMENT ARE A BIG FACTOR GOOD LUCK

It depends on the material, and one thinks i learn is that your must have a very good connection and don’t let them know you are just new in that areas or just a new comers and little knowing, If not they will come to you flying from every corner like vulture, Targeting its positions. may you succed. |

Gosh Mbye, that will be hard hence i´m white! So do you think it is advisable to send some friends or relatives there? Well, I just need to now the estimate prices so that noone can fool me! I have a container full with furnitures and my stuff (all houseitems) and the van is having some second hand clothes, that´s all! |

To clear the container, you will have to expect nothing less than D45000.000 depending on the content and as for the vans each should cost you from D30000.00 upwards but it also entirely depends on the value and conditions of the vans. |
