For thoes people who book there holidays well in adavance think again you might lose your money I read in to days paper of another tour operator is in trouble and with so many airlines going bust. I dont think things look good for the Gambia and Gambia Experience
The world would be a poorer place if it was peopled by children whose parents risked nothing in the cause of social justice, for fear of personal loss. (Joe Slovo - African revolutionary)
Why bad news for Gambian experience? Surely with more competitors out of the running it can only mean good news for them and bad news for the rest of us. What airline you talking about spanair?
MAVERIC No I didnt know that most of the Planes to Gambia were full this year. Where did you get that information from. As that is very interesting for future reference
HIZ The high profile one just recently was ZOOM one of the Atlantic carriers that were reported to be in trouble and or gone bust
The other one in europe was indeed Spanair. I dont know the others. All I know is that as reported many Airlins and tour operators are in trouble or have gone bust because of High Aviation costs and the credit crunch So why not Gambia they are not ammune All Im saying is be careful. NOTE I belive If you pay for your flights or holiday and pay by VISA you can claim your money back from the card issuer or the if tour opperator belongs to the trade association
As Gambian experience are the only out of season operator I think they're in a better position than most.
Presently Spanair are not cutting travel to Gambia.
As for paying with a credit card you will only be refunded for loss of product. Many travellers caught out by zoom will only receive part reimbursement for their payments many customers have found that they are out of pocket by 100s of pounds as they had to make alternative arrangements to travel home and this is not covered by credit cards and a lot of travel insurances.
I travelled twice out of season this year with GE both flights had a few empty seats going and coming but what I find odd is that 7000 seats have already been sold for December alone when there's definitely cheaper options during the season

Theres a risk in any bussiness opportunity while I agree paying by CC will protect your orignal transaction it will not cover additional costs if you do get stranded. Theres no fool safe way.Just invest in very good insurance.
These are just Gambia Experience bookings The figures are from The Civil Aviation Authority, March is even better for GE 8285 sales so far
Slightly of topic but as a matter of interest. At full capacity on all flights from Gatwick, Manchester, East Midlands and also Bristol. For a one month period using the Boeing 330 as used by Gambia Experience the seating capacity is 245 so the total number of seats is 7840. Using the Boeing 757 seating capacity is 229 total seats is 7328. As at to days date there is capacity during both December and March so the figures quoted by The Civil Aviation Authority for March look suspect as there is just not the the seats available
This thread has split with the thread Serenity Holidays Ltd as this was the original thread I will respond here.
MAVERIC “LoL snuggels.. Thinks are looking quite good for the Gambia Experience. Did you know most of their flights this summer were full” ?

No information as yet Maveric?

Regarding The Civil Aviation Authority and Companies House. As far as I can see it is not within there remit to log monthly sales figures. Please do correct me if I’m wrong and point me in the right direction to where the sales figures are quoted
The information about bookings for Serenity Holidays is on www.caa.co.uk Under ATOL then click on check an ATOL company. ATOL No 1866 Go to the bottom of the page and click on additional information The bottom line is sales figures.
Then go to Serenity Holidays web site All the companies are listed that I put in my previous mail.

Yeah It did get a little lost
No they do not there's a 2 month gap between each I assume that's due to space.
Hi The figures quoted are Quartely , they make sense if you check on the number of flights chartered by Gambia Experience. But it will change when the season starts as Gambia experience are chartering less flights Tom
Thanks for the info guys I have now found the information However as this thread went of on a tangent from Gambia Experience to the umbrella company Serenity Holidays Ltd I was hoping to find the tourist figures for The Gambia listed there but unfortunately this only gives the total bookings for all the companies operating under the Serenity banner as listed by Hiz
