The Midwest Gambian Association Conference 2008- Labor Day Conference in Chicago August 30th - 31st 2008.

The Midwest Gambian Association hereby invites you to our 8th annual conference.
August 30 - 31, 2008.

The theme of this year's conference:
"The American Dream, Education, and African Children"


The Midwest Gambian Associations has extended an invitation to all Gambians in the Midwest and across the United States to attend its 8th Annual Conference.

FROM SOUTH SIDE

Take I-94 W / Dan Ryan Express Way. Take the I-290 W / Eisenhower Express way; Exit 51H- toward western suburbs. Take the Harlem Ave / IL-43 exit- EXIT 21B- on left side of express way.
Turn right onto Harlem Ave to Division St. Make a left on Division St.

FROM NORTH SIDE OF DOWNTOWN CHICAGO

Take Lake Shore Drive South to the I-290 W / Eisenhower Express way toward western suburbs.
Take the Harlem Ave / IL-43 exit- EXIT 21B- on left side of express way. Turn right onto Harlem Ave to Division St. Make a left on Division St.


EVENING GALA (2051 E. 79th Street)

FROM THE NORTH SIDE /WEST SIDE/SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO

Take 90/94 Express Way (DAN RYAN), exit at 87th St. Go east (that means make left if coming from Downtown and right if coming from South of 87th St). Go for about 3 miles to Jeffrey blvd and
then make a left (going North). Go to 79th St. then make a right. Address (2051 East 79th St.) will be about 1 ½ blocks on your right hand side.
*Jeffrey is about 4 blocks East of Stony Island. So once you get to Stony Island, start keeping an eye out for Jeffrey Blvd.

SOCCER FIELD/PICNIC: JACKSON PARK (61ST & STONY ISLAND)

FROM THE NORTH SIDE / WEST SIDE OR SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO

Take 90/94 Express Way (DAN RYAN), exit at 63RD. Go east (that means make left if coming from Downtown and right if coming from South Side) all the way to Stony Island. Make a left (go north) on Stony for about a block. You should see the park on your right. Cornell St. flanks the field to the east and Stony Island to the West. You can only park on Stony Island. Please obey parking regulations, as the police will be busy during that weekend ticketing folks found to be in violation.

The program is normally very educative.

Chicago: city of lights!

Their soccer competition gets me emotional. why? Because one of their fellows , very active guy died young. The trophy is normally in honor of him. RIP Emily Promp! I think he is survived by wife and at least two kids. I saw people cry as they were honored to grace the giving of the trophy....tears soaking cheeks...
