Gleaning the BBCNews I saw a passenger manifest of the spanair plane which crashed and it shows that a Gambian was among the list of casualities.I actually read the name of Pa Ganna PuyeCeesay ,whom I knew to hail from Goerge Town CRR and it looks like his daughter and wife all sadly died in this accident. This is a sad loss and may Allah grant him and his family eternal peace and by extension I offer my condolences to the bereaved family both at home and abroad.

May sincere condolences to the families. May their souls rest in peace.

The passanger list is at: http://www.spanair.com/web/en-gb/DSite/Listing-of-passengers/ but I can't find their names.

It´s written as PUYECEESAY/MUSTAPHA PAGANNA.

Note that this is a passanger list, it´s not necessarily mean that they all are dead. I found a Swedish name on the list, who according to all newspapers is alive and only slightly injured.

My condolences to all.

This is a very sad news for us for I personnally know him very well. May their soul rest in perfect peace. He is commonly known as Pa Puye (the son of late Babucarr Puye) in Jangjanbureh, and Mustapha Puye in Bakau area. He was staying in Sweden for a long time and then moved to Spain, Las Palmas.

From family sources in Gambia they have not been able to recover remains of their deceased member. We pray for his gentle soul to rest in perfect peace and those of other victims.

Karamba, According to a Danish Newspaper from 3rd October 2008, the flight technician didn't follow all the instruction from the plane's producer, Boeing, because these were not in Spanair's handbook.
The technician disconnected a defective temperature sensor just before takeoff according to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo. He had failed to check 26 other systems in connection to the defective temperature instrument such as an alarm which did not warn the pilots that the flaps were not functioning, and shouldn’t take off.
El Mundo reported that the defective temperature sensor which had not been working five times within less than 48 hours is the most suspicious point in the report.
An independent commission is still active with examining the cause of the accident.

The above is just a simplified version of a complicated technical puzzle, which the temperature sensor is a part of.
