The Point / Friday, July 25, 2008 has some details.

Bradley Saunders - UK light-welterweight boxer - he has spent a lot of time in The Gambia with his grandad since a very young age.
I have kept up-to-date with him since he was around twelve years of age & hoping he will be bringing back a medal.

I wish Bradley good luck! And also Badou Jack as he is Swedish Gambian.
Wouldn´t it be great to see Jaisuma Saidy Ndure together with Asafa Powell and Usain Bolt in the final?

What a fantastic spectacular opening to the Beijing games. Wow it was mind blowing setting a new standard for Olympic Opening ceremonies. Bejing scientific artistry was in a class of it's own. When we consider that it was the Chinese people themselves working in sync with each other to stimulate and imitate the impressions of computer art. "A world in friendship with one dream." Starting from the beginning of China's 5000 starting with calligraphy to the compose to silk rd etc etc. Watching all of 205 nations carrying there flags with pride full of aspirations of taking part in the Olympic and winning medals to take home and make their countries proud. The highlight of the night in my opinion was the Gymnast defying gravity transfixing the eye running around the circumference of the Bird nest stadium holding the torch to light the Olympic flame to start final crescendo of fireworks erupted over the city of Beijing to mark the beginning of 29th Olympic Games. Now that's people power!

Let's hope that the positive start and the principles of friendship and sports bring about a dope free clean contest

Peace

sab, i was watching the men's swimming this morning and it was breath-taking. the american guy phelps was faster than one can imagine. there are many other games i never heard off. is the olmpics the only venue for all sorts of wird sports? i mean whatever one imagine is happening there.

Yes, I watched Phelps also - exciting for all.

I just spoke with Bradleys family who are left behind in The Gambia & they confirmed the times.

To keep abreast of weirdo competitive activities/sports you need to buy 'The Guinness Book of World Records'

Enjoy the Olympics..

The opening ceremony was just amazing. It indeed exposed China´s history during the centuries. Omitting the last century – no Mao Zedong in sight – they signalled a New China, proud of its history. They also were brave enough to keep it very Chinese, and all the pieces were put together in perfect harmony.

China already have at least one gold medal - in women´s weightlifting. Did you watch Xiexia Chen? She is pretty as doll but strong as an ox.

Badou Jack, Gambia´s flag bearer lost his match and is now out.

There is at least one more Gambian descendant competing for Sweden, Simon Sjödin in swimming. I happen to know his Gambian father and Swedish mother. Also his brother Samba is very good.

Swedish record in 200 m butterfly for Simon Sjödin - not bad at all but still not enough for semifinals.

What´s wrong with Jaisuma Saidy Ndoure? He qualified to semifinals but didn´t start.
