Could it be that this person got the airline name wrong?
(The story in the D.O. ended in a ? and we know that ?s following things just mean a question not fact)

Reports reaching the Daily Observer indicate that Slok Air International, a scheduled passenger airline, is owing its staff at least two months salary, amid fears of financial bankruptcy.

(Here is a link to the topic where airline problems started to appear and were strongly denied by the M.D, of Gambia Experience.)

Thanks Lily,
Not very surprising as the piece was from the D.O.(who were not ready to publish anything until now), not knowing anything about Slok (very odd name!)and never travelled with them I can only pick up things from the papers, can you tell us any more about the set up of Slok? I understand that the Nigerians have some involvement, who else? have they got shareholders?,who owns the not flying planes?,are they just grounded or were they leased ?

Found this Lily, thats about all I could find about Slok Air

History
Slok Air Gambia was established in November 2004. It was originally named Slok Air and was formed by the Slok Group in Nigeria. Its air operators certificate was suspended in March 2004 by the Nigerian government and the airline was subsequently dissolved in November 2004. In the same month the airline was reformed as Slok Air Gambia. Service was halted in the end of December 2007 due to maintenance and was resumed mid-February 2008
