Most people believe what the media tells them to believe because they are bombarded with it all the time. It governs what people should eat, wear, think, act etc.

Of course there are people who think outside of the box.i.e protestors against the Iraq war etc. How many people question as Turk raised the point of the monarchy and how come England itself isn't free as it would like the world to believe? How come Civil liberties are being eroded everyday?

The media's distorted perception of the world still influences so many people those who have never traveled aboard let alone outside of their postcode.

Peace

Talk about thinking out of the box .... are you talking about Britain in your postings or just England???

The irony about Britain is its national gullibility. It is so easy for government to manipulate people through media control. Because most people here have been taught to only think inside of the box. The most influential of those boxes has been the television coupled with an island mentality.
However there are people in Britain who realize that we share an interdependent world and to solve many of the world's problems there needs to be changes. To alter the status quo of power greed and control is unsustainable and needs to be changed. At present it seems the force to be influence that's setting the pace to address the balance is Mother Nature herself. Who is forcing all of us rethink and change how we relate to each other and the planet we all inhabit for the Common Good.
