Jammeh made some valid points, but i am suprised he did not have a single word against Mugabe's violence against the opposition. |

Kay Why are you suprised that Jammeh did not mention anything about the voilence? He cannot critize someone else for the same thing that he is doing as well. Jammeh too is using voilence against everybody who is not sucking up for him. On this part, he is no different from Mugabe |

You are absolutely right Sibo. I just thought the violence in Zimbabwe was so glaring that anyone could afford to fail to mention it at all in a speech. But, perhaps it shouldn't be any suprise... |

the President is in order. Everything is said is the truth! We certainly have no intention of taking instructions from Aparthied-sympathisers with their new found morality about violence in Zimbabwe.
More importantly your argument is equally acceptable as the WEST (UK) CANNOT IMPOSE ON ANY AFRICAN THAT ZIMBABWE IS A MORE GLARING PROBLEM THAN DARFUR.
the really sad thing is that Mbeki tried hard with quiet diplomacy and his efforts have produced an election in which Mugabe actually lost the first round despite all the LIES about Mugabe ''printing thousands of ballot papers''. compare this to all other elections in Zimbabwe.
Oh no, Africans, making an african effort, hired by Africans in the region is not GOOD ENOUGH for Brown and his ''Big White Chief'' know it all attitude.
some people simply cannot get their hands off the cookie jar. imagine Tsvangirai only needed 3% more. that 3% is the cost of the Western (UK) interference. sometimes too much shouting can cause more harm than good.
we must be very vigilent of Western hypocrisy and its distablising effect on internal politics of countries. An African woman, working for the UN came to tell the AU Summit that this was the '' Moment of Truth'' for Africa.
The leaders should have packed/sent her down the Nile to see the disaster that is DARFUR. that should shut her up for life.
Its a lesson for all of us. When people lie to implement their Foreign Policy they always fail.
They have failed in Iraq. They have failed to achieve their objectives in Zimbabwe. Good luck with Iran.
An excellent article from the Herald Tribune. A must read for all of us

Because Yaya Jammeh is no difference to Robert Mugabe, he only had such sentiments to express. In real fact Yaya is outrightly sending the message back home that he is out to do even worse than whatever Bob Mugabe is doing. For very long time, it is this picture of Jammeh that has been captured by many posters on this and many platforms. The fellow is worse of a demon than Mugabe. The cunning scheme of false discoveries and noise about natural resources add together as nothing but massive deception. When will Gambians level up with the fact that Yaya Jammeh is stealing our time and other valuables?? |

There is a saying that birds of the same feathers flock together. I was not at all too surprised by the glaring lack of condemnation of the atrocities in Zimbabwe. Afterall, with the exception of a few, who spoke out against Mugabe (Wade, Mwanawasa etc)almost all African leaders in general have overstayed their time. |

Thanks for this posting. I was going to post something but I thought what is the point. Murder, starvation, beatings, violence, greed are obviously acceptable, its those westerners again who are causing the problems, nothing at all to do with Africans.
