Micro Financing

I have found an interesting website that I want to share with you.

www.MyC4.com allows you to eradicate poverty by investing in African
Businesses and even get a return on your investment!

Now, that is a new way of making a difference...

Here are other places for investment:

http://www.kiva.org/ and https://www.microplace.com/

Kaaniba, I think these sites could be useful to the youth back in Gambia if they have solid enterprise development plans. They could register and apply for loans.
However, the money should not go to naming ceremonies and similar waste. There are also many good articles by Sarjo Bayang on the Enterprise Development Column of Allgambian.net.

Yes indeed , a very good resource and hopefully one can exploit them to a good end for our desperate youth.I certainly want to contact Sarjo Bayang for more insightful updates on this and see if I can get some thing started back home .Thanks a million.

I am interested to hear a Gambian say it shouldnt be wasted in naming ceremony or similar.

£500 would be a good start for many small businesses in Gambia and yet similar or bigger amounts are spent on weddings and naming ceremonies.

Yeah Bev, but thats not only in the Gambia. How many here in europe have a loan to go on holiday, to have a big wedding, to buy a plasma tv-set, to buy a fancy car,
to live above what they in fact can afford ?

But Jack, in Europe people don't have problems like lack of education, health, welfare, living conditions as Gambia has. I think Bev is talking about people who does not have roof spending big money on stuff. I found the gambians are as much as consumption driven even the affordibility is much less than europeans.

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.
